The whole point of Earth hour is to change that kind of attitude.Doing a little bit is better than doing nothing. In fact something has already changed, my young daughters are more interested in conservation and the reasons behind it. So yeah my power will be off for one hour.

My eldest was born on Earth Day. She seems to embody the spirit. The lights in our house are never on unless there's someone actually using them.

Historically, the energy crises in the '70's actually did result in large changes of personal practice and conservation. Look it up. It didn't help that the first thing Reagan did upon entering the White House was to tear Carter's solar panels off the roof.
