Idea Doppelgänger re-creation

Still being new here, I've only begun to scratch the content above and beyond the standalone program. Both factual and Sci Fi.
Which brings me to a general question? Has anyone tried to generate a scenario similar to Gerry and Sylvia Anderson's 1969 Film
Doppelgänger (aka Jouney to the Far Side of the Sun) ?
Is it possible to add an identical Earth in solar orbit exactly opposite of our Earth? Much less create the Launch vehicle, Phoenix Spacecraft, and Dove shuttle vehicles?
Could said planet be simply "mirrored" in the program, skins, bases and names?
Could Dove/Doppelgänger be realistically modeled with proper lifting body characteristics? Journey to the "far side" aboard the Phoenix?
I have SOOO much to learn here lol.
Is it even a cool idea?
