This thread is for the development of the DGIV payload booster.
 
Concept model for the stowed Payload is ready.
This wont be the actual model, but it will be the basis of it. When the booster is deployed, the arms will extend. The big "brick" in the back is the fuel tank, and the cone is the Docking port.

Comments/Questions?

Can you make the cube fatter. So it can have more volume.
 
I'll take that into consideration. I still need to make sure it will fit in the Cargo Bay, which means putting it into orbiter.

When I get the dimensions right, then I'll expand the cube
 
Make sure in Anim8or the scale is 1 grid block. Then you know each dimension. 2 blocks equals 2 meters.
 
Here is the static retracted booster mesh and dds. file. I am not sure what you want for the textures so I just did something simple. I colored the engine black, but part of it could not be done for some odd reason.

Why'd you post ONLY the mesh+textures?
He cant get it as a DGIV cargo, plus it doesn't do anything as far as boosting goes...dont post anything else until its COMPLETELY done

AFter I am done I will give you the file so you can work on the attachment points. After that you give me the points and I will ad them to the config file. Then I will add the scenario.

I made a luncher for XR1, which is similar to DGIV i think. It's a 3 stages luncher and it' able to carry out the vessel to the moon. I made also a 2 stages version for low earth orbit insertion. I put below the 3 stages version:

The idea for this is to have this booster be carried into orbit in the DGIV's cargo bay, then deployed in orbit and then used for injection burns
 
Unfortunately Kaito wanted to benefit himself by working alone. So I am no longer part of the project. I will work on my addons, but if help is needed I will help. Preferably intermediate developers.
