Project CST-100

Did that, it just chooses a file and can't be changed.

Work around:

Made a folder called SC3converter, installed converter. Added config\spacecraft folder. Placed Jason.ini there, now works. :yes:

Actually, that is the Atlas from Velcro, I got permission a while back from Sputnik to use it.

Pm me your email and I'll try to send it.

Entire Velcro Atlas V family in .max, without permission, apologies and thanks to both Sputnik for the info and Travmind who made the original models in this archive.

http://h-10-k.net/downloads/cst100/aa_atlas 5 family04.7z

My 3ds exporter is broke in both 2012, and 2013 3DS Max. If I have to I'll reinstall it and try again.

Actually, I should point out the Atlas files were not done by me; they were done by Travmind for a Multistage.dll add-on he did in...2005, I think? Or 2004?

Travmind left the Orbiter community a long time ago, but he did leave behind some good work, and always gave permission to use and distribute; his NovaSSTO and Atlas are both used with permission, from long ago.

Thanks Travmind!

Thanks Liber, those conversions helped alot, we now have a standalone Atlas 412

Sent another email to Boeing reagarding info on the CST, hopefully I'll get a response this time around.

Good Morning,
I'm working on a project regarding your CST-100 proposal for a very popular space flight simulator known as ''Orbiter.'' Is it possible that I could obtain specifications of the capsule, so that I could make a more detailed and accurate addon?

Orbiter Spaceflight Simulator website: http://orbit.medphys.ucl.ac.uk/

Addon Development thread: http://www.orbiter-forum.com/showthread.php?t=23317

Thanks,
Ky

It looks like the adapter connecting the CST to the Centaur stage is a bit too long, need to fix that.

And the interstage is too short :P

12_07_20_19-50-12_Atlas-412-Stg2.jpg

I'll fix the Interstage and send it back.

I might be getting a bit ahead of myself, but the target date for a CST-100 beta release will be September 25th (yes, its a Tuesday :P )

Alpha: http://www.mediafire.com/?ycb8bv0yia7xegy

Note: Velcro EELV is required.

Current limitations are :

- No autopilot (but you can fly manually and achieve orbit)
- 1/2 staging is automatic, but you have to switch focus to stage 2 and ignite the engines yourself.
- You have to trigger the LES to separate the capsule "DemoCap" even once in orbit (switch focus to the LES and press "J").
- Be sure to engage full thrust at liftoff.

How many seconds it takes ? Is it time-related, altitude-related, or anything ? Very strange. :hmm:

Can you try with the other addon modules de-activated (always think to that when testing a pre-beta release) ?

Also notice that I didn't tested it with the D3D9 client.

I figured it out now, it was the OBSP module, and we have a new bug, the booster comes off during launch. I'll put up a pic in a sec.

the booster comes off during launch. I'll put up a pic in a sec.

hmm that typically happens when the thrust setting is not... wait... (there is a check for that in the code).

To be precise the code says that :

Code:
if (GetPropellantMass(sld) < 500 && GetThrusterGroupLevel(THGROUP_MAIN) > 0.5)
{
	DetachChild(ah_SRM1, 1);
}

Which means : "if the quantity of propellant left in the booster (sld) is lower than 500 kilograms AND that the thrust of the main engines is greater than 50% THEN the booster is detached".

OK that might be frame-rate related, because the booster is "fueled" right when the main thrusters reach 100%. I'll add a "GroundContact()" check condition.

Edit : it should be fixed in the new version I sent to you.

Ok, other than that, everything is working well.

All work fine to me,nothing disappears.
Who write module?

O-K. Let's try this new module.

Are you using the scenario that comes with the package I sent to you ? Because the attachement definitions in the .scn file are very important (and not obvious).

Overwrite the previous 1st stage module "Atlas412_stg1.dll" by this one (in MyOrbiter\Modules).

Oh and if you can take a screenshot of the cockpit view it would help me, too :tiphat:

Separated prematurely, the pic is after separation.

Nice, at least my little gauges work as I expected. :cool:

I see on the pic that the throttle is not set to 100%. Can you try again with full throttle engaged all the flight long ?

I'll add an acceleration-related automatic throttling system later. Right now I'm focusing on the basic things, to avoid bad surprises later.

Edit : it could be related to another addon module that ovewrites attachements in some way, too. The SRM gauge is completely full, it looks like it hasn't even ignited.

Well, a minor update there, tell me if it improves the situation.

That's an annoying issue, we have to solve it. :hmm:
