Hello! I have Orbiter 2010 and am trying out some scenarios which require manoeuvres, which I wanted to use my Logitech X3D Pro joystick for. Rotation works all well, but I have a problem with translation. How do I go forwards or backwards? I tried all three axes and the throttle, only the 6 and 9 default shortcuts work. How can I do this on my joystick, go forwards and backwards? Thanks!

Well, you can't on an run-of-the-mill joystick. X-axis translation is done by pushing/pulling the joystick. Y and Z axis works the same however(tilting the joystick up/down/left/right).

I tried all three on translation/rotation, but nothing moved me forwards.
As I wrote, standard joysticks don't do translations, just rotations as they were designed for ordinary flight sims in mind which means they're hardwired in the pitch, yaw and roll channels and won't work in translation mode.

Currently there's no actual translation joystick available. I'm afraid you're stuck with keyboard when on-orbit and want to execute delta V maneuvers.
