I need some help! Please! My computer's not recognizing any USB devices. When I plug something in it just says "USB device not recognized." I know it's not the devices themselves either because they all work on my laptop. The weird thing is that my printer, keyboard, and mouse are all connected by USB device and they're all working fine. I tried reinstalling the USB drivers but that didn't work. So what should I do?

P.S. All of my Orbiter stuff is on my external hard drive and I'm experiencing symptoms of Orbiter withdrawal (Isn't there a thread mentioning the symptoms?) because I can't connect it to my computer. Please help!

What devices exactly you have plugged (except of external hdd) and into what USB-ports exactly (front panel, rear panel)? There may be some problems with external hdd controller, or maybe you've tried to use inappropriate USB-cable, or maybe you've just plugged too many USB-devices into one concentrator. Or maybe it's your USB controller.
Try to plugg off keyboard or mouse and plug it into any other usb port - if your USB controller is alive it will recognize it and reinstall drivers automatically.
You may also check if PnP service is running (though I don't know if OS would say anything about new connected device if this service is off).

I have tried every USB device I own (External HDDs, flash drives, iPod, etc.) and not all of them were connected by USB cable. None of the USB ports, front or back, work for them but every port works for my printer, mouse, keyboard, etc. I'll try reinstalling the drivers for my various controllers.

All I see under controllers is an Ultra ATA controller and a Serial ATA controller and I assume both of these are for my Internal HDD. After that there are two Primary Channel IDEs and one Secondary Channel IDE.

They are called "Universal Bus Controllers" in the Device Manager.

Before posting this thread I reinstalled all the drivers for my universal bus controllers.

Never mind, I fixed the problem. Thanks for the input everyone.
