Howdy all,

New user to both the forum and orbiter. I'm pretty sure I don't have to say "Fantastic piece of software!" since everyone knows it is, but I'm having a bit of trouble trying to determine the difference between the green and yellow colors in the MFDs. Is there any way to quickly change the default MFD colors? If I could tell the difference between my ship and the selected target, I think I might actually be able to dock with a space station. Heh, so far, I've managed to at least watch the ISS fly by me close enough to see it. And without those numbers (cuz I can't make a good distinction between green and yellow) it wouldn't have happened. Would much rather have docked with it.

Oh my, I'd appreciate any help or suggestions.

Thanks

There is this MFD which has adjustable colours: [ame="http://www.orbithangar.com/searchid.php?ID=3609"]Free Orbit MFD 1.2[/ame]. I've not tested it in Orbiter 2010 though.

There is a file in Config>MFD called Default.cfg, which contains the colours the default MFDs use.
Orb made a good alternate colour scheme HERE (thank you Orb :tiphat:.) Copy the code and paste the boxed text over the text in Default.cfg (make sure to have a backup,) and see if it helps. If it doesn't, you can manually adjust the colours yourself. The format is BGR (first two hexadecimal digits are blue, next two are green, and last two are red.) There is an extensive table of HTML colours HERE. (RGB format, so you'll have to swap the first two and the last two digits.)

I seem to recall a thread on this a while back that had some different solutions. You could try a search for it, as it may help.

Thanks a lot Izack. Exactly what I was looking for. So whats up with the reversed colors? BGR as opposed to RGB? Just curious. Anyway, I can almost hear the sound of the docking clamps.

Thanks again.
