Your opening was pretty solid until that Queen move. But you just gave me an opportunity to make your King a bit vulnerable, with no loss in material, so... i'll take it: 8.Bg5xNf6

Bobby Fisher used to do that quite often in regular games, though...

Yeah... Bobby was one of the Best Ever. I don't think his playing style would make it with today's "modern" and "post-modern" styles... but watching him win, after sacrificing a Rook and a Queen in a World Championship game, is just jaw-dropping! (Even though, it was later proven to be a wrong move, his opponent could have easily drawned the game).

Chess is sometimes the same as life... when you see an opportunity... take it! Just make sure you're not "sucked in" to someone else's opportunity...

Tell you something dgatsoulis, as my interest in this game is awoken again I went and had a bash just now, first time ever, on one of those "online chess / play an opponent from around the world somewhere" games to supple up a bit for what's coming in this one. I must have had a rank beginner for an opponent. Beat him flat in under five minutes. That's going to be no help at all to play you, by the looks of it... :lol:

you still got a chance... dgatsoulis will have a tough end-game without any bishops. The question is, can you hold out long enough to use that advantage from your current position.

On jedidia's comment, yeah, the tactical value of knights does tend to decrease as the board becomes less crowded and their opportunities for "forking" (ahem...) key pieces is reduced. It is I who is feeling their loss at this particular stage, while that duff queen move is being exploited. Let's see what happens...

Sorry for the delay in my response, i was just away from an "Orbiter" computer these days.
(Tried an Orbiter session with Orbiter on a USB stick on an Internet cafe PC, but it didn't work).

Clarification: After my 10th move "h2-h3" (pawn at h3 threatens your "white" bishop), you played: Bishop takes Knight at f3. But the pic and the scenario you posted still have my pawn at h2, not h3.

If that was done unintentionally (because i didn't post a scenario or a pic after my move), feel free to pick up the game again after: 10. h2-h3

If not, (which seems logical) then my 11th move is: 11.g2xNf3
