Yes, why not?

Still don't believe me. Please have a look.

(The video's quality isn't that good, but I hope you still enjoy watching it.)

Special thanks to jacquesmomo for his Kourou CSG Global Part 1 and 2

The car flew from Guinea Space Center all the way south to Cayenne – Félix Eboué Airport.

It would been more cool if the car was a 2015 DeLorean.

But can it jump over a bus?

The Kourou CSG Global add-on does not include any buses. Only rockets and 2 type of cars. I use one of the 2 cars for demonstration here.

You can try to include buses in the scenarios after downloading the add-on and try it out for yourself.

I would like to emphasize that I did not change any specifications of the car or edit the config files. I leave everything in its original position and started the Ariane1-4-5 all on the Launch pad scenario. Then, while playing around with this car, I notice that it can actually fly, which shocked me.

But it only operates at a top speed of some 100 m/s. Useful for short excursions, like say, from the Cape to Habana, but definitely not for long voyages (like crossing the Atlantic, Pacific or crossing the American continent from Vandenberg to the Wallops Island)

You can download the CSG add-on and fly the car yourself, really.

Everyone believed you. Such is life with Spacecraft 3. If it has lift parameters defined in the config, it can fly. Also, thrust is assumed to come from a rocket-like engine.

Actually, that's nothing. There are spacecraft 3 commercial airliners and light airplanes that are capable of achieving orbit and then some.

Actually, those cars would be great candidates to convert to UCGO vehicles in Orbiter 2010.

Given enough thrust, you can make a car fly anywhere.

Cheers
