Burmese storm toll 'tops 10,000'

The number seems to be very honest, but 3000 are still missing if I remember correctly. A really bad day for Burma. I think about donating a little money to relief organizations, even though Burma is ruled by a military junta. But the damage is enormous and I am sure, they will accept and need help.

This is a very devestating thing. Really is sad. You know I thought after being in Hurricane Katrina I've seen the worst of worst, then this happens, over 22,000 dead is just unreal.

More like 100,000 ...very sad situation..

It seems the government of Burma is not helping the situation.

From the Secretary General of the UN.
Mr Ban said he had been unable to contact the head of the ruling junta, General Than Shwe, to ask him directly to allow relief teams in. "If early action is not taken and relief measures put in place the medium-term effect of this tragedy could be truly catastrophic," he said.
