UPDATE: 2013 Doesn't work with 2010. Will try to remake it with all-new models for Orbiter 2010 soon. Left here for further development reference.

NO NOT USE WITH ORBITER 2010

Beta version of my recreation of the Stephen Baxter alternative history - needs feedback to correct bugs. Documentation still incomplete. Apparently there is a conflict with AMSO, any help in order to solve that will be appreciated.

Update: actually it works fine: serefino1 made a nice video of the Ares Expedition on Youtube.

Installation on a clean Orbiter install recommended. All relevant permissions have been sought, I think. If you recognise a mesh that is not credited, please inform me at the Orbiter-Forum addon thread.

Enjoy

Legacy Add-on Reviews from Orbit Hangar Mods

Review by anemazoso
Pros: Includes all components as described by Baxter in his novel.
Cons: No animated solar panels
Review:
This is an excellent add-on from an excellent book. I downloaded this when it was released by never got a chance to check in out. Finally I ran into it searching this site and was glad to see it is a lot more than the picture and the description suggest. To be fair, I have to mention the solar panels though would be nice to have some animations.

Great Project!
I've always liked Stephen Baxter's ability to draw real characters and have a believable mix of accurate technology, historical connections, and exciting plot. Voyage is one of my favorites that I've been meaning to go back and read again. I downloaded and got the Ares to orbit but haven't had time to play with the more elaborate segements of the journey. Thanks for providing this glimpse into what might have been.

Does this add-on require AMSO or should I install it without AMSO?

Also does it require Velcro Rockets?

Saw the video for this and it looks incredible

Thanks,

Not require or Velcro Saturn or AMSO. It is one add on "independent."

Only one detail. It is an incredibly complicated mission. At one point in Mars orbit prior to descent, you have three spacecraft maneuvering.

This addon works fine with Orbiter 2010, at least for me anyway.

There was never an AMSO issue, Baxter's Voyage Beta never required AMSO.

I just wasn't sure since the opening post said there was a conflict with AMSO

I'll give it a shot, any other info you could give about this mission would be great.

Thanks,
