Alright, so I downloaded the Battlestar Galatica mod from the Rag tag fleet site, I don't have a membership there, so that is why I'm, posting this on here, so I got the Battlestar itself, install it, but while it was loading, BAM!! I get the terminating after critical error message :facepalm:. I took a look at the log and found this >> ERROR: No vessel class configuration file found for:
---------------------------------------------------------------
>>> ERROR: QJBStar
>>> [Vessel::OpenConfigFile | .\Vessel.cpp | 252]
--------------------------------------------------------------- This isnt the first time I've got the terminating error, but I just dont understand how to fix them. So please help!!

I'm not sure but it looks like you are missing "QJBStar.cfg" file. It should be located in this directory: ..\Config\Vessels. You might want to check if it's there.

How did you install it? The RTF ships have a subfolder in the zip that you need to open up. If you ended up with a "Battlestar" folder in your Orbiter root directory, you did it wrong--you need to copy everything that's inside the Battlestar folder up to the Orbiter root directory.

I did, at least I think I did, maybe I should retry it

Ok I figured out my vessels folder wasnt in the proper directory, but now when I go to play, I get "orbiter.exe has stopped working, windows is checking for a solution to the problem" then the game exits :(

There are a lot of other folders that you need to put in the right place, not just vessels.

Let's just try doing the whole thing over again. :)

First unzip the 'Battlestar.zip' that you downloaded onto your desktop. Then, find your installation of Orbiter, and open it. Open the newly-created Battlestar folder on your desktop, select all of the contents, and move them into your Orbiter folder. Make sure you don't accidentally move them into one of the folders already in Orbiter's folder! If/when asked to merge folders or replace files, select yes for all of them. If you used the MSI installer to get Orbiter, you may have to give administrator permission.

Run the scenario again. It should work after this.

I tried, but it just wont work :thumbsdown: but I dont know where each individual folder goes, such as the module folder, so could someone help me on that?? Oh and by the way, I downloaded spacecraft 3, but no help. Are the Rag tag fleet mods compatible with orbiter 2010????

contents of the module folder in the zip file goes into the module folder in the orbiter install.

In fact, the addon installation is done in EXACTLY the same way and location as the original orbiter installation. The folders of the addon will have a 1:1 mapping with the orbiter folders.

Number Six was seen messing with the installation...

I tried copying the folders into the folders with the matching names but no luck :shrug:

so you have modules\modules?

No. that won't work. Copy the CONTENT of the addons modules folders to the [orbiter]\modules. Ditto for config, meshes, scenarios, etc.

I use FAR (http://farmanager.com/index.php?l=en) to extract an add-on to a separate folder and then move the contents, as Gary W. says, to the Orbiter directory, checking each and every file conflict (that is, when the new add-on tries to overwrite something that already exists).

I use winrar, it comes in handy, and gary I will give that a try :tiphat:
