Thanks again for the best software every. I tell all my friends about Orbiter and I am afraid it just confirms I am a true geek from NASA's golden age. Anyway, I retired late last year now armed with the freedom to get back into this community. I will have many simple questions but got the DG to the moon last night and the procedures came back like yesterday. I also enjoy war games like Combat Mission. Orbiter provides a nice juxtaposition given its so much more predictable than tactical combat. See ya around I hope.

Well you came back at an interesting time. A new version of Orbiter is in the works.
Although, Orbiter 2010 has been the workhorse for quite a while and has the most add-on support.

Thanks. Is the beta software far enough along for a novice to test? Also, are there any textures available for elevations on the moon and/or Mars?

Kevin

I'd say the beta is good enough to start with. Along with new features added it fixes plenty of bugs which were present in Orbiter 2010-P1. However some add-ons may have problems with it.

Elevation data is available for Earth, Moon, Mars within the Orbiter texture downloads.
