Hi. I'm taking the delta glider to the moon. However when i near the moon the autopilot still thinks im in the transfer orbit, and not the hyperbolic approach, so when i click pro- and retrograde autopilot, it still points me to the pro and retrograde orientation of the transfer orbit.

i've tried switching reference in the orbit mfd from earth to moon and sending to HUD but this still happens.
does anyone have a solution?

As soon as you are in the SOI of the moon the autopilots will put you into prograde and retrograde with regard to the moon.

You ARE using the in built autopilots aren't you?

Yes - get closer to the moon. Transfer Orbit is either in solar or Earth reference, not in moon reference, it switches when the lunar gravity starts to dominate.

yes im using the built in autopilots.

so there's no way to switch autopilot reference manually?

To what? Prograde and retrograde work with reference to the object that exerts the most gravitational influence. You can't burn prograde with reference to Pluto when in orbit around the Earth, for example.

If you aren't close enough to the object you can't do anything with it. You CAN do Mid course burns to get youself over the right target, MFD's like encouter MFD help with this type of burn.

Finally, check the Orbit MFD. The G-contribution meter will show you how much influence a body has. You can change this via the REF key.
