We have written a new hack so that images in posts that you quote will be automatically replaced by the text {image} with a hyperlink to the original image.

This should make it easier for you when replying to and/or when viewing threads that contain a lot images.
If you need to have an image visible in a quote (for example, quoting a news article), just make sure there are no arguments provided to the the [quote] tag. For example, the bbcode [quote]An oak tree[IMG]http://www2.slac.stanford.edu/tip/2005/may6/trees-web.jpg[/IMG][/quote], produces:
