15/07/2012 occultation of Jupiter by the moon, for the quality I apologize, I was in a state of semi sleep:
Orion is located directly to the right of the moon in this photo, but I'm unfamiliar with what is around it:
I captured that photo nearly a month ago so Jupiter would be located elsewhere; but it might be in the frame considering how wide the lens is. There's a particularly bright dot above and to the right of the moon which could be a planet.Jupiter was very close to the moon last night, & I got a really great view of it, the moon, & the Orion Nebula. For a first night out with the telescope, it couldnt get any better than that, but it was painfully cold. I can upload my sketch of Jupiter on here, but theres not much to see.
Excellent try for a first. How did you capture it, using multiple exposures and stacking them? If so, what software do you use?
Hello. Today's ISS pass with Moon transit
Wow!!! Nice work
I should try to spot the ISS sometime. How long does it take for it to go horizon to horizon?
