OHM Asteroids! the game

Asteroids! is an attempt to recreate the old classic Asteroids! game in Orbiter.
The game is simple - there are asteroids around you, you should shoot them.

Installation and Controls:
-Unpack.
-Activate Asteroids! module
-Run Asteroids! scenario (or other space-based one)

A new asteroid is being added every 5 seconds in the vicinity of the focused vessel
To fire - Left shift+B (Open Weapns MFD if not open)

ToDo:
-Scoring
-Toggle for the game

-Blowable asteroids
-Limits and fixes

But are the asteroids destroyable? Because everytime I shoot they just bounce off my blasts.

Its a lot more challenging than the original when physics gets involved.
I raised my FOV to 90 to play. Its definately not for anyone who gets motion sick from visual stimuli. Then again, they're not ready for space exploration either.

Maybe a second radar MFD that detects the asteroids might help? (ala X-wing series)

By blastable asteroids, do you plan to make them simply disappear or break up into smaller asteroids?

For the moment - disappear. Maybe blown to pieces later.

Yeah, this addon rocks. I always played Asteroids on my Mobile Phone, but this is much better. The most cool thing is that i can blow up myself by setting Delay to 0 and Power to 100 kT.

It seems everything was fixed by Vash already.

The most cool thing is that i can blow up myself by setting Delay to 0 and Power to 100 kT.

Well, the weapons MFD part was a nuke emitter early in it's life.

Side scrolling game where you blasted aliens trying to abduct people (who look like candy-corn) from the surface of the planet. Its a fun and difficult game, I played it on Atari, but its been on a few other platforms.

Defender was one cool game and a great hit. It had a ton of controls for the era (flight controls, fire, smartbomb, reverse flight direction, hyperspace) and was quite challenging. Still is, if you play it on an emu. You have a radar to give you information on what's happening on the scrolling playfield, so that you can decide where to go. You need to blast the aliens without killing the humanoids, pick them up if they fall from too high an altitude, you have to know what each enemy does and how they move. Colourful too, with cool effects for the era.

Nah, I WANT ACE COMBAT ORBITER EDITION!!!! WITH WORKING MISSILES!!! And fighter jets.
And, if someone is crazy enough to do it, an ALTERNATE EARTH, Just like AC Earth, with different nations (ie Osea, Belka, Usitio, Usea, Emmeria, Yuktobania, Leasath, Aurelia, etc.) and even the squadrons themselves!!! :thumbup:
(Squadrons like Razgriz, Galm, Garuda, Gracebacr, Ofnir, Mobius, Scarface, Gryphus, Falco, etc)

When history witness a great change, Razgriz reveals itself... first as a dark demon. As a demon, it uses its power to rain death upon the land. However, after a period of slumber, Razgriz returns...
This time, as a great hero.
