Request Artemis landers

So been working on my habitat modules. BUT needed a flat area so they can connect. In D3D9 you can flatten areas. Flex can climb. Flex can pick up and move the modules

NASA has all but anounced that the connecting ridge will be the landing zone for Artemis. It has illumanation for power and elevation to comms and also PSR to explore

I guess we won't be having a Jamestown Base soon since it's not directly on Shackleton itself

According to Ars Technica, unofficial reports reveal that due to development delays, NASA plans to repurpose Artemis 3 as a low Earth orbit test flight of both Orion and Starship HLS instead of an actual lunar landing, nor a Gateway-only mission

If this happens, the revised mission would see Artemis 3 as a modern analog of Apollo 9

Redid My FLEX. The problem with this is it is not on the moon yet. So they keep adding modules,.....

I added this light bar module to her.

One thing for FLEX and UACS you need meshes of the crew mounted on her. I have 2 eva guys but if uses other guys you see nothing on her.

I wonder if sides should be white with the nasa log but got some with solar panels on the side,....

In UACS we get this. Right now it looks at the type Commander, Pilot,... and the shows a mesh if you get on the FLEX

Did a video of the FLEX. It seems to have different abilities. I just have meshes added/removed. It seems in real life they would have all these modules sitting around. Like so many things this is the current version but if/when it is ever in space you might be different.
There are a couple of seperate modules. That solar panel unit,....

I did ask Astrolab about the white sides and was told that only one side would have the solar panels and when folded down they would be closed and you would see the back of the panel and it would have the logos on it the the rover would need to be turned so that side would face the sun then opened to charge the panels.. They did this to keep dust off the panel

Ok. So i can redo the rover. So one side has a panel that folds up and the side white with logo

NASA is in limbo about Artemis but they are thinking about a small Apollo style lander again to try to land on the Moon by 2030..

As you can see a shorter descent stage coupled with an ascent stage based on Orion might be the the way forward. The ascent stage might be reused but the descent stage would not so a new one would need to be flown for these early missions maybe on a Falcon heavy. the descent stage could also be used to land a hab or large rover to support Lunar operations. If they plan to use this form of Orion then some form of the gateway would have to be used as well
the descent stage could be based on the Centaur 5 which is being looked at for a deep space tug

I think this smaller lander would have only 2 engines as with the centaur 5.
Wondering if it could be carried with the Orion on the SLS/EUS as with Apollo

I work on the Constellation program for awhile and looks like that might be another way to get back to the Moon before 2030 . Altair Lander was really simple could carry a crew of 4 to the surface and the ascent stage could be reused just send the descent stage with one launch to dock with the Altair ascent stage

might think about an inflatable Gateway station just like the lunar hab

and he is a picture of an Orion ascent stage

some one has done this lander and it looks pretty good but doesn't fly very well

NASA is looking into two older ideas to land on the Moon before 2030
The Alpaca and the LM lander are really being looked into again
The LM Lander " Leo" might be the closer of the 2 and it is based on the centaur 5 might be ready for Artemis 4 unmanned then Artemis 5 for the first manned landing the name Leo comes from the Constellation Leo

NASA has funded the SLS through Artemis 8 now that can be cut off but they are well along with the SLS for Artemis 5
The Alpaca did past a critical design review so it too is close to be ready for a 2027 landing attempt

gattis is the creator for both of these and really a super job.
need help to get these to land using pursuit MFD would be great

Any further HLS designs would only fly after Artemis 5, since all those missions have already secured HLS contracts to SpaceX and Blue Origin:
  • Artemis 3 = Starship HLS
  • Artemis 4 = Starship HLS
  • Artemis 5 = Blue Moon HLS
I do not know anything about Starship HLS's current progress or status, but Blue Moon is surely getting a test flight by August this year
