Apollo 11 S1C crash...

Apparently, the apollo 11 S1C crashed into the ocean, and was observed by a german ship...even pieces of the stage landed on the ship.

Wow, this is amazing. I thought those went into permanent solar orbits.

First stage for all Apollo flights hit a drop area in the ocean.

It was the upper stages that went into solar orbit for Apollo 11 and 12. I believe that from 13 upwards they hit the moon to give the seismonitors something to record and to learn about the lunar interior.

those were the SIVB stages, and the SIVB stages from 13 and on, like gary said were aimed at the moon... which was a really bad attempt at getting rid of the moonmen
