7-zip works well, much better than Windows XP's built-in.

Make sure the "use current pathnames" option is checked and extract to the Orbiter root directory.

Haven't had a chance to try that add-on, but I looked it over and it looks like it should work if extracted properly. I suspect the problem was Windows not extracting everything right.

i open the orbiter file and the addon file, move the config(addon)file for the config(orbiter), move he meshes(addon) for the meshes(orbier), scenario(addon) for the scenario(orbiter)...

That seems to be the problem. You need to move the config(addon), meshes(addon) and scenarios(addon) into the main orbiter folder, not into the config, meshes and scenarios folder.

I recieved your PM, felipebatista. I would have to ask the addon developers for permisson first, so sending Orbiter via email wouldn't be a good idea, but I'll see if I can get a tutorial finished tommorow.

The main orbiter folder is the one where orbiter is. It contains orbiter.exe and various sub folders called config, meshes, scenarios and so on.

We have explained all this several times now. Is there anyone you know where you are that can help you? Someone with more computer experience perhaps?

And felipebatista, I know that English isn't the main language in Brazil, so it's normal that your English is not perfect, but maybe you could use the "Check Spelling" button, it's the left button of the three buttons you see in the upper right corner of this picture:

FireFox also has a built in spell checker. It played a major role in me learning how to spell correctly. :firefox:

thanks garyw, but now, how can i install the addons?

The same way you installed Orbiter.

Orbiter comes in a zip file which you extract into a folder.
The addon comes in a zip file which you extract into the orbiter root folder. It's as easy as that.

The content of the addons mesh folder gets put into the orbiter mesh folder
the content of the addons config folder gets put into the orbiter config folder
the content of the addons scenario folder gets put into the orbiter scenario folder.

and so on.

At the risk of repeating everyone else, installing add-ons is extremely simple:

1. If you have not already done so, install a program to read zip files, such as 7-Zip. This only needs to be done once.
2. Double-click the add-on's zip file file to open in it 7-zip.
3. Ensure that "use current pathnames" is checked.
4. Extract the files to your top-level Orbiter directory; e.g., C:\Orbiter.

That's all there is to it. To get 7-zip, please follow the instructions Tommy posted:

7-zip works well, much better than Windows XP's built-in.

Make sure the "use current pathnames" option is checked and extract to the Orbiter root directory.

Cool.

So what was the problem and how did you fix it? Feedback is important to help add a list of common problems and fixes to this thread.
