ORBITER-FORUM will be temporarily closed at 2026-07-23 18:00 UTC while we complete some OF maintenance tasks. The amount of downtime is expected to take up to one hour, but probably less.
Luis and me, we thanks you guys for your compliments !
This version 1.18 is certainly the last version to be published for the actual version of Orbiter. In the next version, we should start to bring to life some elements of virtual cockpits, starting with the FDAI instruments in both CSM and...
Dear Orbinauts,
You will found here: http://www.acsoft.ch/AMSO/amso.html
The new version 1.18 of AMSO addon for Orbiter.
Improvements
This version introduce the long awaited new Lunar Rover Vehicle (LRV), with full realistic deployment from the LM compartment. This deployment...
I saw Apollo 17 night launch in 1972. This is the most impressive remember of all my life !!! Still now, I have the feeling in my mind it was yesterday.

Actually, we are 2 designers (Luis Teixeira for 3d drawing, me for the code) and one main permanent beta tester: Matteo "The Bloodhound" (LOL). Unfortunately, we lost a very precious member last December (he died). LazyD was the specialist for autopilot code and hard mathematic problems. But...
Hi NukeET,
Since a long time, I suspect Orbiter to not run the simulation properly, if Orbiter don't have the focus and/or is minimized on the workbench bar. In your case, the command module was "catapulted" into space, because it was found UNDER Earth surface by the simulation.
Here is an...
Yes !!!
I have a video of Apollo 15 LRV real deployment (ap15_Rover_deployment.rm). As you can imagine, this is a video we have looked quite often with Luis.
There is also one on YouTube, but unfortunately it is time accelerated and very blurry.

Hi Adam,
Yes, I know your tutorial thread. Many thanks for this very nice and precious work. I notice your collaboration offer and be sure I will contact you for testing or other purpose, if required.
Best Regards,
Alain
Read better the message next time:
"... Will follow this sequence, the equipment of the LRV (forward electronic pack, TV camera, both high & low gain antenna, etc...) ..."
"... It will be the same quality for all the rest of LRV equipments"
This is what is actually in development and...
Dear Orbinauts,
I let you know that I will publish a further intermediate AMSO version 1.18, before the already announced "crossing version" 2.00. This intermediate version will feature the new Lunar Rover Vehicle with the full realistic deployement animation (probably the most complex...
Test a configuration with only OrbiterSound and IMFD instrument modules. Normally, this configuration should work without any problems.
If it is the case, then activate, one by one, the other instruments modules you would like to use and check every times the problem. When it will start to...
By definition ANY protections are insecure. Look what happened with BlueRay. The methods you describe here would maybe just make the thief work a bit more difficult, not speaking that the dynamic encryption you propose would be probably a real frame rate killer.
You should also have in mind...
Let's go back to the main subject of this thread.
The method used in AMSO is the following:
Original mesh files (.MSH) datas is encrypted with the help of an external tool I have developped. You will undersand that I will not say more details about the way this encryption is made.
Then...
I don't think at all that encrypting meshes is both inefficient and pointless.
I guess that you probably lock the door of your house or your car ? But you know that it won't stop a determined thief and you make it nevertheless.

Yes, Tschachim. But I do it not with malicious or dishonest intentions. It was exactly the contrary that I had in mind.
Now if you wan't all the context, here we go:

It was obviously NOT the only reasons why we finally decided to include this protection. Luis had previously a very bad experience in the MS Flight Simulator world, where a "Lisboa scenery" he does, was stolen to him. So, meshes protection was a subject we were talking about long before.
I...
