Just curious, IRL How does the shuttle leave the ISS to prepare to deorbit? Does it just bump the RCS enough to start to move slower than the ISS? Curious how much this affects the shuttle’s orbit as well.
So trying to undock from ISS, could not find the checklist, I reversed the procedure from docking, opening/closing hooks and latches..even hit control D and nothing is releasing me from ISS..what’s the short sweet solution?
Tried switching from FES to radiator cooling, im assuming its not modeled yet? Either way thanks for the responses guys, so basically they're not used normally unless needed? Just the cargo doors being enough makes me wonder what kind of circumstances would require the forward radiators to need...
Hey guys, so I figured rather than start a new thread every time (or anyone else) has a silly shuttle question, I’d just keep it within this one regarding real world operations and learning how they actually did things. Anyway, something else I was wondering about is with regards to the Shuttle...
I’ll try to make this short and sweet….front DAP is SSV shows indications for what’s selected, but when I move to the aft controller, I can change DAP nodes but no indication…bug or user error? For what it’s worth controller is switch to on for the aft station.
So setting up another STS mission and it got me wondering, in real life..would nasa ALWAYS close the rss around the orbiter before a launch regardless of payload needs to protect the orbiter from weather etc or was this only don’t to load payloads? What about occasions where there was no...
Ok, think I have it figured out! Also using the CCTV is helpful but how do I get the docking mfd up on the rear station crt? I can only get the flight instruments etc, and hitting f8 only changes the two in the commanders crt, can’t change the aft pilot station crt though.
Thanks Dave. Went through the checklist 3 times..still nothing. Under panel A7L what is CRT? I’ve got back and forth between both panels A6L and A7L and even said to heck with it and powered up everything…nothing.
I’m at a loss.. I can get the latches to open/close but ring will not extend.
Any chance that scenario worked for ya? Sorry..I’m going through the manual but I can’t seem to get the docking ring up. I assume that why it’s bouncing off the ISS port
yeah, its SSV In 2016...heres the scenario. still combing through all 52 pages worth of manual in sections 8 and the two on 9 trying to speak nasa's language. I really appreciate the help!! Ive powered everything up as far as I can tell, just keeps bouncing off.
So in one scenario on endeavor I can dock with the ISS…then I tried it with Atlantis and she just bounces off the docking port. I noticed on endeavor the docking ring was extended, however on Atlantis it is not. Managed to find power and circuit breakers for the APDS, however I cannot get the...
Ok, so running out on He TANK P won’t really matter then at the present? I have noticed for the least 3 days on orbit it’s steadily dropping. Does the RCS Fuel (left and right) on the overhead panel have any accuracy at all? My concern in a nutshell is leaving the DAP in auto for a 2 week...
