The James Cook (JC) is a general purpose deep space vehicle that uses Magneto-plasma-dynamic engines to achieve very high efficiency.
JC has 8 cargo docks, which when used in conjunction with nodes can carry an entire unassembled space station. JC is also equiped with 2 Deltaglider specific docking ports. The default load is with normal DG's but my personal preferance is the DG-IV from Dansteph.
The JC also feature a spinning habitat ring which is controlled with the "K" key.
By using the JC in concert with Gregburch's station building blocks or other similar applications you can custom load the JC for almost any long distance assignment.
Limitations: Any station assembly will require a tug of some sort, like the dragonfly or workpod. Unfortunately the JC does not have an arm, i just couldn't make it work for the moment, mabey in a future patch.
A nice alternative is to use one or more of zatnikitelman's GARM's, however there is still no train to move them up and down the length of the ship (I tip my hat to the Descarte class DSVs).
I had been working on this for quite some time but it seems the Descarte class and Exploreur Class Vessels beat me to press. I hope that others will find a place for my DSV as well. I personally beleive in have wide diversity and it's nice to use these ships in concert.
As with all my mods for orbiter, this mod may be used in anyway the user would like, including using all or part of it in their own mods. My only requirement is that I be credited.
