Well, made it back from a small tour of Texas. I've already been to all of these towns, but had a blast visiting them again with my girlfriend. I didn't get a chance to take as many pictures as I would have liked, but here are some of them you guys can see. I had a blast and it was a MUCH needed break!

Picture067.jpg

At a natural spring where you could swim and what not, a lot of fun!

Picture063.jpg

Eating at a great Mexican restaurant on Lake Travis after the springs.

Picture066.jpg

Me enjoying a great Texas beer, Shiner Bock

Picture124.jpg

Statue outside the Alamo of Texas.

Picture129.jpg

The Alamo of Texas.

Picture137.jpg

A beautiful, really old tree outside the Alamo.

Picture138.jpg

Again outside the Alamo.

Picture148.jpg

Stepping into a time capsule! This was Roosevelts Bar (if I'm not mistaken, I need to check with Mandie as she heard about this place.) A lot of history in this bar!

Picture156.jpg

Ripley's Believe it or Not Wax Museum, sitting with Forrest Gump!

Picture158.jpg

Guess who this is..

Picture159.jpg

"I'll be back", lol... again at the wax museum.

Picture160.jpg

lol...being a diver by profession I had some fun with this picture.

Picture172.jpg

Night view from our hotel room in San Antonio.

Picture175.jpg

Day view from the roof top of the hotel.

Lots of bars there, with or without history. How did you get up in the morning without a headache? BTW Mandie seems very nice, obviously she took all the pics...

haha, no doubt! I was only trashed the one night, just drink lot's of water before bed that night, take some Tylenol in the morning and drink more beer works for my hang overs.

Thanks, she is a great girl! She took some of the pictures, but we were with another couple for part of the trip so they took most of the ones of us together. I took the scenic shots myself.

Awesome pics, Tex! This makes me remember my own vacation the last June, which I spent in Lazarevskoe at the Black Sea coast.

photoshare.ru-1801527.jpg

A monument of Admiral Lazarev, an explorer of Antarctica, at Lazarevskoe railway station.

photoshare.ru-1801562.jpg

A mountain view from the apartment's window.

photoshare.ru-1801521.jpg

A mockup of a "Saurus Man" who might become the dominant life form on Earth, had the dinosaurs survived (that was a sort of entertainment exhibition in an amusement park).

photoshare.ru-1801540.jpg

A night image of the town.

photoshare.ru-1801541.jpg

Another one.

photoshare.ru-1801592.jpg

A mountain valley that we traveled through to get to a 33 waterfalls gorge.

photoshare.ru-1801619.jpg

The Russian Army trucks that are used to transport tourists over the valley (that was one big joy ride!)

photoshare.ru-1801586.jpg

My spouse Vickie and three of the 33 waterfalls.

photoshare.ru-1801590.jpg

Me swimming in a waterfall's bowl.

photoshare.ru-1801591.jpg

Me again.

photoshare.ru-1801599.jpg

Vickie and a Circassian warrior's picture at a bus stop's wall.

photoshare.ru-1801652.jpg

The sunrise I took pic of on my way to Moscow.

photoshare.ru-1801643.jpg

An overcast looked from above.

photoshare.ru-1801646.jpg

A glimpse of a ring-shaped rainbow as viewed from the plane's window.

Interesting areas Tex. Texas seems quite scenic. It's a state I would be interested in seeing if I ever get the chance. Plus I've seen quite a bit of it in Walker Texas Ranger.

The endless variety of Earth, have we explored it yet when we seek the beauty out in the space?
I would loved to see Texas and the American continent, yet China was my destination this year, and here are the impressions:

china-hai-2.jpg

On the Hainan island, the hotel.

china-hai-3.jpg

Chinese foreign grammar at it's best...

china-hai-4.jpg

A sort of a hospital in a small town.

china-sha-03.jpg

Shanghai. A square under the Oriental Pearl tower.

china-sha-04.jpg

A view from the Oriental Pearl tower. They say there are a new skyscraper built in the city every 8 days. Sounds plausible...

china-sha-05.jpg

In the classic suburbs. Somehow that view reminds me of one popular computer game.

china-sha-06.jpg

Sunshade tents on the pedestrian crossing. The only place in the world where i've seen something like that.

china-sha-08.jpg

It's a common sight, despite being considered an anecdotal singles.

china-sha-09.jpg

china-sha-10.jpg

No wonder they build quick. Looks like facade works on 12 stories and lower does not need a crane.

china-sha-11.jpg

A tiny street right angled to the wide avenue.

china-sha-12.jpg

A view over Yangtze river to the modern part of the city.

china-sha-14.jpg

Later, the weather becomes more common for the region.

china-sha-16.jpg

Going away from the city. The land of contrasts.

china-sha-17.jpg

On the jet back home.

Enjoying the pics, guys. Here's some of my own, been on too many work trips recently, but this was from the last proper vacation. Spent most of the time doing either of these.

By the way, Artlav, you look like quite a tall guy: Is legroom a problem on aircraft? :D

Love the pictures from the Black Sea - really fine landscape - and China - diffferent.

Thanks for the comments all! I'm also enjoying all of your vacation pictures as well, looks like a lot of fun times.

@ Cooper: Texas is really beautiful and has a little bit of everything from desert, swamps, forest, lakes, oceans, etc. Worth a trip to see it for sure, especially the hill country which consist of New Braunfels, Wimberly, and Austin surrounding areas. There are many great locations to see all over the state though.

You guys are ruining my mental images of what you look like. Where were you shooting and kayaking, Simonpro? I did some kayaking on the Flathead River in Montana a couple of years ago, fun time, freezing water.

What about our mental image of what you look like? After so long looking at Mr Smith I'm convinced you scowl at people through dark glasses and are the most terrifying man alive.

In contrast to this, looking at Andy44's user pic makes me feel out for him and wishing to lend him my umbrella - the man must be wet down to his underwear!

These are some of my pictures of our small (2 Weeks about 3000Km total) Queensland holiday.
