Hello all,
This is the new official development thread for me (Orbinaut Pete) and The Aviator's new project "Ultimate ISS assembily missions"

Our idea is this, to take all the ISS modules that are currently avaiable in Orbiter, and put them all together to make the most realistic set of ISS assembily missions ever.

Starting with the launch of Zarya in 1998, leading all the way up to the current ISS, we will do all Shuttle, ATV, Soyuz & Progress launches, & all space assembily scenarios.
The addon will be for shuttle fleet, and will be senarios and config files only. Other addons will have to be installed seperately, however we will rotate the docking ports correcly so that they all fit together properly. The correct dock roations will be included in our config files, which will be released with the addon.

I am working on the space assembily scenarios, & The Aviator is doing all launch scenarios & dock rotations

From now on, all news & developments on the addon will be posted here.
Feel free to ask anything you want here also.

Hello all,

This is a request for help. We want to know if anyone would be willing to work with us on this project to help do the following work that we cannot do:

1. We want to add realistic, virtual cockpits to all the modules of the ISS, would anyone be willing to do this, we need VC's for Zvezda, Zarya, Unity, Destiny, Harmony & Columbus

2. We are using the Z1 truss available here

We would like someone to help with adding a docking port to the top of this Z1, so that when Mustard finishes his Solar arrays, we can dock them to here for the missions that require them. Would anyone be willing to do this?

Virtual Cockpits can only be implemented via a custom ship dll.
So you will need to get permission from the original authors of the modules to make one for them. If the modules are spacecraft.dll ships, that means taking the mesh and doing all the work over (placing docking ports etc.).

I hope you find someone to do that. Many people (including me) like to see the inside of the ISS in orbiter.
 
There is also the possibility, again, we would need help, of adding animations to open the CBM hatches, so that when all modules are docked together, and all hatches are open, you could see into other modules and get a full interior of the ISS, maybe even move around using cameracontrol plugin?

Hi all.
For now, I'm working to change config files of modules to fit them together.
My question is this: I have to change the names of the modules that I'm using to don't overwrite the originals. I CAN do this or I need permissions from the authors?
And if I want to modify skins at modules, for example, write Harmony instead of Artemis, I can? It's "legal" to use files of other people like a base to work and change them for my needs?

And another thing: I want to get the real orbital parameters of the ISS to set it on launch scenarios, and information on when the astronauts performed NC1, NC2, etc. etc.. I want the user can perform the mission PERFECTLY how the real astronauts made it! If you know where I can catch these informations, please post it here.

I am working on Unity (with a VC) at the moment, and plan to do the entire ISS in time (I have modelled all of the exterior and started on another couple of interiors).

Any updates will be posted here.
 
unussapiens, if I've understood, you modelled all exteriors of ISS modules? Can you post here some pictures of the exteriors? I've seen pictures of Unity in your development thread and your module seems very good. Also, if you have any pictures of interiors post them here. Thanks.

I might make a ummu compatible air lock if you want one
 
ok I need some diagrams / blue prints to base the mesh on pm me with them if you can (but I have just asked no matter to contact momo for me to see if I can use his air lock mesh)
 
thats an error in the docking ports in the config file
 
UPDATE

This is just a quick progress update:


The problem with Pirs is now fixed, and all dock rotations for current modules are now completed!

The next step is to make a start on breaking down the ISS into seperate assembily stages, and include shuttles in the scenario with the relevant payloads for assembily.

Also, we are going to re-name all the modules and their configs, party for realism, and partly so as they dont confict with other addons/scenarios.

We are now waiting for Mustard's solar arrays to continue the assembily of the current ISS.

Hi

I am blue print modeling all parts for the Iss from the drawings on the NASA site. Here is the PMA the first part I have started. I am modeling next gen models for high end computers with the new orbiter graphics in mind. I have been waiting for the new release of orbiter to start testing the models. This is something I have wanted to do and my coding skills are good enough to do the job now. I will use 2D panels for mmu and systems.
So I would love to help with this project after I am finished with the P3P4 module.

I am not sure if it is time to start coding next gen models. Is the the next release finished enough to start coding models for it?

There are no overlapping ploys in this model.
