Detailed Exploration of Mars

Remember my post with my landing on mars using an XR5? Remember how I said I'll come back to Mars with some more detailed exploration tools later? Well, now is the time! Though I haven't completed this flight yet, here is some info and pics:

Addons Used
-Doug Beachy's XR5
-Dan's UMmu and DeltaGlider IV containters & mini-satellite
-Kulch's Space Tugs (more specifically, his DeepStar probe) and the URMS and UCD
-Woo482's Mars Rover (using 2 of them)
-The Pressurized Rescue Module for the DGIV
-IMFD

Mission Plan
-Takeoff from KSC
-Enter a parking orbit
-TMI burn (Trans Martian Injection)
-Mid-Course Correction
-Approach phase (unplanned burns may occur)
-Parking orbit around Mars
-Deploy COMSAT (DeepStar) in Mars orbit. (this will improve communications with Mission Control)
-Deploy Probe 1 on Phobos
-Deploy Probe 2 on Deimos
-Land on Mars
-Deploy Probe 3 at landing site
-Explore using the rovers and the Shuttle PB
-Mars Takeoff
-TEI (Trans Earth Injection)
-Mid Course Correction
-Approach
-Parking orbit
-Landing at KSC or SRC Space Port

Cargo Bay Layout
At the top, you can see the RMS, the Shuttle PB and the probes.
Just below the probes, are the two rovers.
Below the rovers is the inflatable rescue module
The blue block is the Consumables container
To the left of the container is the COMSAT.

Not exactly an entire base, but some useful hardware. The XR5 is the main base in this mission.

Yeah, the payloads are a bit unbalanced because I forgot the Solar Array. Doh!
I'll be flying a crew of 10. I haven't decided on any names. The whole mission was designed in my head over the span of 5 minutes when I was bored.

I will also make a pack with all the .scn files to download once I finish.

I didn't make a payload config. I'm using Universal Cargo Deck to attach it. But perhaps, I will make a payload module in the future.

PS: Woo482, your rover is really cool! I didn't expect you to make wheels that spin or any of the other awesome parts. :speakcool:

ok then and it was just not me who made it do not forget gattispilot for coding the dll and modifying my mesh and adding some better textures and astrosammy for beta testing the rover for me

I always name my crew like Arnie Arnolds, Mike Micheals, Joe Josephs, Charlie Charles, etc. Kinda funny, I think.

I use to do that sometimes so I can remember just by one letter...

Er, you mentioned that the reason there was a big blank spot in the payload bay is that you forgot to put the "solar array" in. I searched solar array on Orbithangar and they didn't have it. Where can you get it?

It was meant to be attached to the top docking port on the XR5.

The top docking port is not needed during the mission, so after landing, the solar arrays would be redeployed.
