I've been hearing of an Orbiter 2008. When's it going to come out, and what is going to make it different from Orbiter 2006? More importantly, is it backwards-compatible? Also, does it have a crash module?

The next Orbiter version will be out on Tuesday.

If you read the posts already in this thread you might gain an inkling into what will be in the new version. (which, I'll add, has no set release date. It could come out next month or it could come out next year, or maybe it will never be released )
You might also like to read the various threads in some of the other forums, there's a beta version floating around somewhere on here, I seem to recall.

Argh! I've seen comments like this around the forum, what does it mean? To many Tuesdays have passed for it to be true!

Basically dan steph said he would release the DGIV on Tuesday, however he never said WHICH Tuesday.

Wow, guess I stumbled on an inside joke. Have fun with all that!

It is no insider, actually all kind of people make this joke as reply to the question when something will be ready.

It could be any weekday, but when it is about software, "Tuesday" is some sort of standard now. Microsoft also releases their patches on a Tuesday, which might be a origin of the tradition.

So the new version of Orbiter will not be released tomorrow?

*tear*

It will be released the day when Earth passes a secret corodinate.
If you find that coordinate, you may calculate the download window...

Possibly, but more likely a takeoff on the old Popeye cartoons, where Wimpy tries to borrow money for hamburgers with the promise of payback on Tuesday.

Would he gladly pay you back on Tuesday?

Showing my age here...
