He's not the messiah - he's a very naughty boy.

Really a bit late. But isn't it good to be mayor?

Jeez thirty years ago! I remember seeing LoB at the cinema first time around. I still watch it sometimes to remind me of just how valuable religion is to mankind. I vaguely remember a short intro film that was shown before it. Can anyone remember - was it "Balham gateway to the South" or something?

"Balham gateway to the South" or something?

I'm afraid I can! A remark from Peter Sellars, probably a goon show reference?

I had to muscle through a crowd of angry Mormon protesters in Kenniwick, Washington when it played in theaters.

Funny that no one protested the Matrix trilogy, as in some ways it was far more sacrilegious. Especially part 2.

I have an LP of Peter Sellers sketches and "Balham" is on it. I think the starter for Life of Brian was a short film based on the audio sketch.

Audio:

Classic Sellers.

Can't find the video version.

Lifting the ban would not make any real difference other than a symbolic gesture. The film is readily available on DVD so anyone can watch it these days anyway. How many times is it shown in the cinema these days anyway?

It is the sort of film I could watch over and over again though. Absolutely hilarious stuff!

Suicide squad! Commence attack!!!!
