Hi People.
Smart App Control blocks running Orbiter.exe and Orbiter_ng.exe from anywhere except my root folder.
If I copy them and put on taskbar they're blocked.
If I make a shortcut and leave it in the root folder it blocks that!

Notifying that I think it is safe doesn't make it recognised next time (why is there no option to "Run anyway"?)
With "43 trillion signals" to search, I think mine is a drop in a waterfall!

Is there any way except turning off SAC, (which I don't want to do as seems a good safeguard) to get these
apps recognised, or somewhere they will run?

Any workarounds that you know?.....
Thankee.

There are currently, according to Microsoft, only two ways to do this.

  1. Disable SAC.
  2. Sign the application with a valid certificate, which sadly costs a hell of money per year, since the private key must be stored on a hardware device since 2023.
Authenticode and SAC are pretty much Microsofts way of saying "Fuck off" to FOSS.

I still haven't figured out what it's supposed to be a safeguard against, other than "developers that didn't pay microsoft a boatload of money"...

Give it time and someone will find a way round it -- but then, it'll be useless anyway :sneaky::ROFLMAO:
