New Release Crew Dragon 2022

Hi,
here is a new .dll for the DM2 Crew Dragon, unzip into Orbiter root as usual, overwrite old .dll.
I think I've fixed the "phantom force" issue when extending/retracting the docking ring while docked to another vessel.
Give it a try and let me know if any problems, if it's ok I'll update on OrbitHangar :)
Thanks,
Brian

Yes, it works! No more phantom force. Thanks for the quick fix!
I tried two vessels of different mass, all ok.

Looking forward to tomorrow's launch of Crew 1, to play around with your SpaceX vessels while watching the live feed. :)

B.t.w. was there a special reason to name the improved capsule "DM-2", instead of "Dragon 2"?
I think all Crew Dragons will be lookalike. Differences would only be in the scenario file.

Great! I'll make an update on OH soon.
Yeah, I'm getting quite excited about the Crew 1 mission too. Things are really rolling along for SpaceX.
No real special reason for the DM2 tag except that I like to use consistent/short naming conventions for folders and projects and then it just gets stuck with it :-) Also helps to differentiate between versions in my projects archive.
Cheers,
Brian

Hi Brian, do you think you can set an autopilot to exit orbit and reentry? like that of the dragon crew or that of the dragon 1

Hi,
unfortunately "real life" and health problems are preventing me from doing much Orbiter developement currently.
I think I put some notes in the documentation about using IMFD "Base Approach" for reentry from LEO.
Cheers,
Brian

Does anyone know why the aling plans II that appears in the right MDF does not work?
How do I solve it?

Align Plane II MFD was made for Orbiter2003, so it may well not work with the current version. I don't know, since I haven't tried it. The default Align Plane MFD works fine, though.

Artist conception of Inspiration4, with the IDS docking adapter being replaced with a cupola of its own:

Sorry for the bump, but I still cannot get over how beautiful of an addon this is.

Donamy and Felix24 really did a fabulous job (y)

Are we close to flying this Dragon with the cupola
I think I could make a cupola (as depicted in the image) fairly quickly - but it might be nice to have a passenger in there, looking out, and I'm hopeless at modelling humans.

Does anyone know of a "passenger" mesh that we could use?

Cheers,
Brian

Well, the cupola is just about done. Was getting some nasty z-buffer flickering on the inside view, but I think I've fixed it.
Just need to put a couple of scenarios together - and maybe try and find a passenger mesh.

Honestly I would advise to simply leave the human out. I think that a high detail mesh of a human makes it look weird and kinda creepy, like the VC of the XR2.

I figured it would be optional, like the crew meshes, but since I can't find a suitable mesh anyway its a moot point!
I see the proposed Inspiration4 mission orbit (51.6 inc., 540km alt.)is the same inclination as ISS - viewing/photo opportunity for the passengers?
Cheers,
Brian
