I am experiencing significant FPS drop when opening external MFDs. If 2 MFDs are opened at the same time my FPS drop down to even less than 10, depending on how large I make them. This happens regardless of which MFD I use.
Running scenarios with SSU (high-res textures) and all Virtual Cockpit screens ON with NO external MFDs opened I usually have 130/150 FPS

This happens with Orbiter2016 in D3D9 (Rev.3.5) both in full screen and window mode and with the following settings:

Screen resolution = 1920x1080 60Hz
MFD refresh rate = 0.04
Panel scroll speed = 100
Visual effects TAB (planetary and general) ALL ON (cubic interpolation ON and Max resolution Level = 19)
AA and Anisotropic Filter = 4x
Font Rendering = Antialiased
Self Shadows = All visible oobjects/27s dither/Terrain mapping Projected

System specs:

CPU Intel i7-860 2.8Ghz
RAM 8 GB
OS Windows 7 Home Premium
GPU Nvidia GTX 650 Ti
19' screen (1920x1080)

yeah, I know it's OLD

Any hints?

With D3D9 you have a "DX9ExtMFD" module.
Did you activate this one, or do you use the default "ExtMFD" one?

I have both of them activated.
I think you should only have one of them activated as there's the possibility that they can cause interference with each other. So try with only DX9ExtMFD and see if the problem persists.

Unfortunately disabling the ExtMFD module does not change anything
