The old "Solar Probe" add-on, recompiled for Orbiter2016 and renamed in honour of astrophysicist Eugene Parker.

Anyone know how to get the Delta IV rockets working?
The DeltaIV autopilot doesn't work for me, so manual launch. Boosters go invisible after separation, but otherwise it works well enough. Hopefully we will have a DeltaIV with autopilot capability soon :)

I've got same ctd, I don't know how to get final stage engine to work. I was really looking forward to PSP since it's trajectory plan is amazing. I was also looking forward to answering mystery of this launch date moving (i don't understand how can they move a window this many days without significant plan changes, GA fly-byes etc)... I was following PSP site, but NASA never gives answers that we, orbinauts, are really interested about, so it's always up to us to figure out mission orbital parameters (i understand that press is not likely to ask questions like: Hey, can you give us exact MJD of breaking earth orbit, MJD and radius of first pericyth, MJD and radius of first perihel and so on... they would call security on you...) Maybe I'm the one with problem, but I can't stand these nice ladies giving 'science briefings' and treating audience like idiots.

Brian, I love your add-ons, both for Orbiter and Celestia. Really do. Regretfully, I know next to nothing about programming.

Thanks. This is what happens if you don't test on a clean installation

Quick fix: move the file
Code:
Config/Vessels/ParkerSolarProbe/star48bv_psp.cfg
out of it's "ParkerSolarProbe" sub-folder and into the general "Vessels" folder.

Now fixed and updated on OH so you can, if you prefer, simply re-download and re-install.

Cheers,
Brian

Universal Autopilot (UAP) still works for me in Orbiter 2016. That could be used for scenarios. Or recompile to Multistage2015.

It launched at 3:31 AM EDT. Thats 7:31 UTC at August 12th. I can probably do the date change to reflect this manner

Has anyone flown entire mission successfully?

Does anyone have any idea how to make use of final stage Star engine? I understand what needs to be done given this situation, but I either lack the tools or ideas to utilize them...

Who puts solid booster at final stage?

Update 180813 on OH:
Updated Parker Solar Probe scenarios for 12 Aug.launch.
(My guess it would be a two-part escape burn was completely wrong ;-)

I also noticed that the panels stow as it gets close to the sun. Was wondering if that would be included in a new version?

Update 180817 on OH:
PSP Solar Panels automatically adjust angle to compensate for approach to Sun.
PSP timeline updated in docs.

If you just want the PSP .dll with retracting solar panels, you can use the patch .zip attached here

How do you even do a mission like this with transX, how do you get all the parameters e.g. how close you need to fly-by for a gravity assist, and what should your Earth eject plan look like, the only solution I managed to make has me doing an 8km/s dV burn to leave the Earth and after launch I have just over 6km/s worth of dV remaining to play with

Hi, there are quite a few tutorials and videos about using TransX, you could look at the "Tutorials & Challenges" section of the forum, or search Youtube for "orbiter transx" etc.

Regarding PSP specifically, the date of your first Venus gravity-assist determines the dV required to get there - even a few hours makes quite a difference.

I'll play around with the dates and I'll let you know how it goes. Thanks :3
Edit: Ok so I'm trying the PSP mission, and I'm trying to do the 1st flyby of venus according to the actual date it happened (28.09.2018), adjusting transX for that date gives me 10km/s worth of dV I need to burn off while ejecting, I'm assuming I need to set a later date? But if that's the case I've no clue what it should be. Has anyone else done this, any tips for the parameters you used for this mission?
