Someone is reposting David Courtney's videos

Someone is reposting David Courtney's video's under at least three different accounts. The title says Orbiter 2017 and the description indicates that it was recorded in 2017, which is obviously a lie. Presenting Orbiter 2010 video's as Orbiter 2017 can be very confusing for new users. I think this is bad for Orbiter and I am sure David wouldn't agree. What's going on?

The only thing we might do to help David, is send a abuse report: https://www.youtube.com/reportabuse. I went with "Copying identity" (Not sure what the english version is; I have the Dutch version).

You have to fill in David's URL, which is: https://www.youtube.com/user/DavidWCourtney
You also have to fill in the abusive URL, which is: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCFFr9JVu2Q6pfa7wQSaXsZA

After that, you must select up to 5 video's that you want to report, which is not hard since almost all the video's are in violation.

I guess this is the only thing we can do for David. I sincerely hope he's doing he's doing well.

David had not replied to anyone for five years now it seems to me. Perhaps @dgatsoulis knows more, but he hasn't been active for almost two years either. I hope both of them are doing fine and have other things which keep them busy. Somehow I think dgatsoulis is ok, but I am afraid David is not.

But why would anyone repost these video's? I can't think of a reason. It is such a niche with little views so I cannot imagine someone is turning this into some kind of profit.

My first guess was that the repostings were done by a Bot, but then the orbiter videos were the only ones on that channel. But if it was a bot, it would probably have gathered together more videos of related stuff, even other orbiter videos, not just specifically blixel's, so this does seem a bit weird.

Somebody could send a message to the channel and ask politely for an explanation, maybe. Probably won't get any response, but doesn't take much time either.

Good to hear there has been some activity recently. I didn't know David's nick is Blixel. I did check the statistics page of dgatsoulis on this forum only a few hours ago and I am pretty sure I saw a date in 2016.

This is a shot in the dark, but is it possible that either David or Dimitris had a bot set up so that if some activity took place on the channel recently it might be a way of re-updating the tutorials and keep them active on youtube longer?

For what it's worth, David belongs in a Hall of Fame for this forum. His videos are amazing, and his personal story is inspiring to all.

Folks - looks like nothing stops us all from reporting this as abuse of David's work. It takes 2 mins ... please consider just reporting the user, and hopefully we will get this taken down.
