Hello Orbiter Forum!

After witnessing a full solar eclipse as a little boy I've been obsessed with space. I've always read space news and even met astronaut Andre Kuipers a few years ago. During a lecture he gave on behalf of the Dutch army I got the chance to ask him questions on the Space X Dragon, since he was one of the 3 astronauts to capture the first dragon on the test flight.

My first understanding of orbital flight came from the game Kerbal Space Program. I've been playing this game since version .13 (somewhere in 2012).

During this time I've played Orbiter2010 a few times and toyed around with the Deltaglider. But got soon back to KSP (because, green Kerbals, what's not to love!)

but after completing a 'grand tour' I wanted something bigger and more difficult. I got into Orbiter again.

The last 2 months I enjoy flying the Xr2 to the ISS / MIR and getting it back onto a runway. Doing the EDL from different heights with different PEA. The same mission type with diffirent parameters (different base, night vs day landing. as little resources as possible etc.)

I've also toyed around in the Mars system. Moonhopping and landing and such. But still learning on that.

I hope to gain more knowledge on this forum on orbital mechanics and how to make the most efficient use of the fuel in the crafts. And I really look forward to new mission ideas to perform!

Welcome to the forums! :welcome:

We have a few Kerbal converts here, so you aren't alone in that.

Welcome! By the title I half expected a "Catch Me If You Can" esque story of you impersonating an astronaut...

A warm welcome from Germany (near the dutch border)

:welcome: to Orbiter-Forum!

Welcome! I just got back into Orbiter after a long absence. I've made a few forays into space, and not been to the ISS yet since my return, but it sure feels good to be back in the saddle:thumbup:
