Hey guys I'm kind of a newbee for Orbiter. And as the title implies I'm having trouble installing the launch MFD. I copied all the files installed VS c++ redistributable and HUD Drawer and I even see it in the Modules tab. But it doesn't show up on the list when I click SEL on the MFD. Oh and I'm uing Orbiter 2010 P1. Can it be a orbiter version issue? Thanks in advance for any assistance

have you put a tick next to it's name in the modules tab?

Yeah! But didn't work. That's why it's a bugger:dry:

Do you have multiple MFD's installed (and enabled)? If so the number of MFD's are too much for one page. try clicking Sel twice, to bring up the second page of MFD's.

Did you have an error when you set the tick to the module? I recently noticed that, when I updated my LaunchMFD. And then I looked up the comments and there are new dependencies to two other addons listed on LaunchMFD page in Orbit Hangar.

EXACTLY the same Problem here! I'm a noob too, but the MFD works in my "old" Orbiter installation (100830Patch1) on my PC. Messed up this installation with too many addons that i don't really need and / or don't understand yet.:embarrassed:

So i made a 2nd fresh installation using the same addons as in my old installation, except those i do not want. Then installed Launch MFD - v. 1.6.2 for Orbiter 2010 , HUDDrawer SDK v.0.3 and ModuleMessaging SDK v. 1.0.

Launch MFD appears in Modules List but not in the Cockpit MFD Menu. I miss this MFD so much!

Weird...

What he said, but no reply...

On top of that, do latest BTC MFD and TransX work?
Also, please try it on a really clean installation.

I had a problem with the Project Apollo MFD not working once, after installing some completely irrelevant MFD's it suddenly started working. I think Orbiter is just prone to goofy bugs like this that cant be explained.

Thanks to all for your suggestions! And yes, i clicked "Sel" more than twice :compbash2:

Hi Enjo! First i'd like to thank you for the great addons! As i am not very experienced in Orbiter i didn't use BTC and TransX yet. This will be the next step for me.

Tried Launch MFD on a clean installation. Downloaded the BigFile from this page: http://orbitersimulator.com/orbiter-2010-downloads/ ...same problem: Launch MFD in Modules list but not shown in Cockpit.

I see this as a good opportunity to learn more about launch heading calculation and manual ascents, but i will keep trying to figure out what's wrong. So if i got it, i will post here.

Cheers

Please post the Orbiter.log file, as it may contain clues about Orbiter not being able to load specific DLLs.
For example we've had such problem the TransX thread.

Sorry for beeing late. Here is the Logfile and...aha it says something about "Error loading module launch mfd"....no wonder why it isn't working. But as i am not very smart at computer things, i have no idea what this exactly means

Ok, then please read the thread that I referenced and report back.

I keep saying that, but an absolutely indispensable tool in these kind of situations (where a missing runtime dll is suspected) is the Dependency Walker which shows runtime link dependencies between modules, and symbol names (roughly equivalent to Linux functions ldd and nm). No Orbiter user or developer should be without it.

It used to be bundled with VisualStudio (don't know if it still is), but you can get a standalone version here: http://www.dependencywalker.com/.

It hasn't been updated for a while, but should still work. (maybe there are other alternatives now)
