Hello everyone,

So its been about 2-3 months since the first edition of Orbiterview was released to the universe, and I was naturally quite pleased with the reception. A big thanks to DBeachy for a great interview, I couldn't ask for better.

So anyways, I wanted to start a thread for Orbiterview. Ill post any news on upcoming interviews, previews, and the like. I would also appreciate suggestions; please post ideas for questions you would like me to ask. Although for obvious reasons I cant guarantee that I will get to everything, if its reasonable and/or interesting, you can bet I'll try to get it into the interview.

A big thanks to the whole Orbiter community. The response to the first edition was great! Thanks again :)

I would like to see interviews with Face,WeHaveAProblem,Harvester,MartinS,Artlav,Dan Steph,And a Group interview with the SSU team

Face: his brilliant coding skills and OMP project as well as all other projects he has had a hand in making.
WeHaveAProblem: Wideawake and future plans
Harvester: How Orbiter gave him inspiration for making KSP
MartinS: Future of Orbiter and direction it is heading
Artlav: His coding skills and OVP
Dan Steph: UCGO,UMMU,Orbiter sound and future plans
SSU team: SSU project likes dislikes, future development and direction, background on each team member (how they got to where they are now in respect to their current roles in SSU)

just my :2cents:

EDIT: oh and dont forget Chuck Norris! At 700 years old...He is still a bad-a**:p

Thanks, some good input on this topic. I suspect Martins may take two interviews, one on the past, one on the future, to cover everything.

Who exactly are the SSU team? I knew Urwumpe was part of it, but I wasn't aware of any others. What would project likes/dislikes be? ( i.e. elaborate a bit there)

Not sure which to pursue first. Maybe Dansteph would be best right now? I can't recall hearing from WHAP lately, he may not be available right now.

SSU Team members give Urwumpe a shout. I think Its Urwumpe,DaveS,siamesecat (not sure about Kwan though)
DanSteph I would do first because he is really active right now with the new website and all
WeHaveAProblem is active http://www.orbiter-forum.com/member.php?u=827
Research,research,research

Oh! and hey! (Where are my manners?) how can I forget about our friendly admins GaryW and Orb? Get those guys in there somewhere to.

Hey,

Interesting project, Bruce. WIN dev may be going slowly and I very rarely play orbiter any more, but I'm always lurking on the forum, and WIN dev isn't dead. If people would actually be interested, I'd be happy to do an interview or whatever, just send me a PM.

Can't you smell my T levels?
I'd like to hear as much as I can from our genius, Jarmonik. His IMFD has been around for many years, having a mature UI. I'd like to know more about mathematical background of the addon, and where exactly was he able to develop his mathematical skills needed to freely operate in this field.

Another thing: DX9. It's a great thing, we know, but what are the major showstoppers of further development? Should we cancel support of old vessels? What mistakes do the vessel creators do wrong that not everything can be supported? How is cooperation with Martin coming along? Let's all be men about it, be honest, neutral and productive here. We're not making any money on it anyway.

It would be an honor. Please give me a few days to come up with some questions, and I'll get the PM chain started as soon as possible.

Good ideas, very good...

Jarmonik would be an excellent interview for sure, but I will need more time for that. I would like to do some research on DX9 and DirectX in general so that I can converse a bit more intelligently on the subject.

I won't mind an interview if people would find it interesting.
But you'd have to calibrate your expectation.

Even though i've been socially present on this forum, i haven't done any Orbiter shenanigans since 2011 or so, except for a couple things by The Department Of Abnormality, like installing Linux on a DeltaGlider. And it's not so much due to lack of time than due to drift of interests.

So, if you want to hear about future projects or when the new OglaClient comes out, then i know about it as much as you do, which is "no idea".

I would imagine that it would still be quite interesting. Hopefully we can do an interview some day.

Just a minor update on this: The interview with WHAP finished up some time ago, and went quite well. I'm unfortunately too busy to spare the third of a day or so that I need to pull together the completed PDF though, so this will have to wait until December 16th at the absolute earliest. It appears that Christmas eve falls on a Tuesday this year, perhaps that will be a good day for release.

Thanks again to WHAP for doing the interview, it was a real pleasure. :tiphat:
