...is to get the space x addon working. I've tried working out the problems in the orbiter and manually going in and adding every file needed including the vessels file which the orbiter log says isn't installed. I also installed the required addons prior to download and still get the error. I was wondering if there's some way I could re-intsall the orbiter program with space x installed somewhere.

All feedback is appreciated.

Which spaceX addons are you trying to use ?

You don't need visual c++ but you do need the required addons.

Can you post the scenario file and the orbiter.log so we have a chance to see what the issue is as your post hasn't made it clear aside from saying 'it isn't working' - DETAILS PLEASE!

Also, if you are using Dx9 client, make sure you put a copy of your "spacecraft" folder located in */config into */modules/server/config folder.

Sorry for the late reply and thank you to the responses,

I've double checked to make sure the vessels are included and they are after reinstalling this manually several times, yet it states no vessel class?

Also, if you are using Dx9 client, make sure you put a copy of your "spacecraft" folder located in */config into */modules/server/config folder.

I have the SpaceX add-on installed and (mostly) working. However, I experience a CTD in a very specific circumstance. (As outlined in this thread.) Would the fact that I haven't copied the spacecraft folder over have anything to do with that?

I looked at my */modules/server/config folder, and it does exist, but it only contains: DragonCapsule.ini and Dragondrogue.ini. It definitely isn't a complete copy of the spacecraft folder in */config .

I just want to know if my CTD could even be related to this before I bother trying and seeing. If it's completely unrelated, then there's no point in trying.

best to just dynamically link your config folder to the one in the modules/server folder.

That way it is always up to date.

But I do not believe not having that would cause CTD. It would rather just cause the spacecraft based vessels to just not show up.

In this case the OP is missing an addon which certainly will cause a CTD.

>>> ERROR: No vessel class configuration file found for:
---------------------------------------------------------------
>>> ERROR: SpaceX/LPad
>>> [Vessel::OpenConfigFile | .\Vessel.cpp | 252]

So, whatever the SpaceX/LPad is either needs to be removed from the scenario or installed. I've not yet used the SpaceX addons so can't say where this can be found. It may be that the addon isn't installed correctly.

look for lpad.cfg in config/vessels/spacex

Tried finding lpad, I found something similar and added that but nothing happen, same error. Is there anyway some one who has orbiter with space x addons that can put it online so I can download orbiter with space x already on there? I've tried fixing this problem with my space x addon for months including reinstalling/fixing the addon(s).

You need this in config/vessels/spaceX folder

rename to Lpad.cfg

Just put that in exactly how you put it in there, file by file, or step by step. I didn't get it to work and gives out the same error :(. Thank you for your paitence though!

Do you know how to copy and paste ?

Have you done what donamy has told you to do?

1. SAVE the attached 'LPAD.txt' file above to your PC.
2. RENAME the LPAD.txt file to LPad.cfg
3. MOVE the file from the location you downloaded it to into the SPACEX folder which is inside the CONFIG folder which is inside your ORBITER folder.

Tried what he asked me to do two times, keep getting an error. I just wish there was a way I could reinstall orbiter with space x pre-installed. The log keeps giving the same exact error in regards to the lpad.cfg.

And the error is?

I just wish there was a way I could reinstall orbiter with space x pre-installed.

If that was done what would you do the next time you had an issue? Unfortunately Orbiter does require some basic computer knowledge in order to configure it.

The log keeps giving the same exact error in regards to the lpad.cfg.

The exact same error as above? then either you've not put the above file in the right place or you've left it with a double extension.

Can you find the file, right-click on it -> Properties and post that dialog box here? it'll help pinpoint the issue.

That's the error, what do you mean by double extension? I might delete orbiter and try one last time tonight starting from scratch with Space X and installing the required addons.

And that says that you haven't done what donamy has asked you to do.

what do you mean by double extension?

This is what I mean about some basic computer skills. windows has a default setting of a hidden extension so it is very likely that the lpad file is actually called lpad.cfg.txt - This is also why I asked you to post a screenshot of the file properties which I noticed you didn't do.

I might delete orbiter and try one last time tonight starting from scratch with Space X and installing the required addons.

Fair enough, I wish you luck and hope it works for you.
