This update adds a reentry model, with drogue and main chutes and charred hull.

Make sure to read the readme for instructions.

Serious question though. When I run the included dragon\A Dragon in launch config scenario, I get a CTD. Can anyone tell what I'm missing by looking at my Orbiter.log?

Do you have my ISS A to Z, and Thorton's ISS v3.2 ?
 
Well, the Orbiter log can't find pv34_joint in your scenario, which is in the ISS A to Z v3 addon.

Ok, I didn't see that listed in the requirements so I didn't install it. At any rate, let me see if I have all of this straight. In order to install the Dragon update, I need ISS A to Z, which itself needs Thorton's ISS?
 
Correct !! Yoou need Thorton's ISS for the Russian ships.

Thank you for this great addon! I have one question about it though. Is it only for the cargo variant of the dragon? Or is it possible to use it with the manned dragon? I also noticed that it doesn't have a VC anymore.

Do you have the focus set on the DragonCapsule ?
 
I am getting a CTD.

I installed all the required addons, including ISS A to Z, witch I don´t know why it is required for just a Dragon addon.

It seems that I have a problem with pv34_joint. I have D3D9 symbolic links created, and a spacecraft folder with everything required in Modules\Server\Config\Spacecraft

It should be dragontrunk, not dragon/trunk.
 
Hello, in this scenario, my dragon is picking up a strange pitch up rotation. I have joysticks disabled, so I don´t know what the problem is. (Run the scenario for at least 2 minutes, the rotation is exponentially increased).

You can download the AttitudeMFD on OH, then you can null all rotation.
 
For some reason, the drogue shoot craft does not spawn when using the dragon in the launch scenario from the first dragon update.
 
Hmm during re-entry (for the first time on the Dragon) I could not get any of the required buttons to work in D3D9 - I cannot deploy the drogue and main chutes or make the skin charred. Can someone try out the "A Dragon reentry" scenario and see if it works down to splashdown?
 
Before re-entry, you have to press "J" this will spawn the drogue, and dock it to the capsule. During re-entry, press LShift + num3 for charring. After re-entry focus on the drogue and deploy it by pressing "K". When you want to detatch the drogue press cntrl + "D" to undock it. Refocus to the Dragoncapsule, press Lshift + num2 to deploy chute.

IIRC, in the a "A Dragon reentry," you start low enough that there is not a non-significant amount of drag. This can cause the docking with the drogue shoot craft to fail. Other than that, it works for me.

However, I still have the issue that the drogue craft does not spawn when I follow the launch scenario all the way to re-entry.

Some honest feedback with respect:

I think you just gave a case for why this needs to be a custom dll craft, not that that is quick or easy. The textures and models make for beautiful screenshots. However, the relatively complicated procedure for activating special effects manually to get around spacecraft3 limitations is a bit of an emersion killer and kind of defeats the purpose.
