News 2012 UEFA Euro Championships

England is in full defense now.

And they held quite well.

England 0 - Italy 0 at the end of first half-time.

The score is still null at the end of the match. We're going for 30 extra minutes.

What's sure is that Germany will face a very tired opponent.

Still 0 - 0 at 120 minutes.

Penalties session.

Overtime session was kind of boring, we ended up exchanging recipies.
First match to go to penalties!

Italy wins 5-3 ! Congratulations !

Buffone is a great goalkeeper and a great captain.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but is it going to be a Germany vs Italy semi-final?

Looking forward to watching that game!
If memory serves me right, Germany has never passed Italy on a Euro semi-final.

If memory serves me right, Germany has never passed Italy on a Euro semi-final.

Yeah, because they never played it :P

The games between Germany and Italy at big tournaments:
World Cup 62, Group Stage: 0-0
World Cup 70, Semi-Final: 4-3 for Italy in overtime (Schnellinger, playing for Milan, made the 1-1 in the 90th minute, followed by one of the most exciting games ever)
World Cup 78, Second Round: 0-0
World Cup 82, Final: 3-1 for Italy
Euro 88, Group Stage: 1-1
Euro 96, Group Stage: 0-0
World Cup 06, Semi Final: 2-0 for Italy in the last two minutes (I was about to kick my television into orbit)

So, actually, Germany never won against Italy at a big tournament...

Best game I ever seen, and all that losing might change this year Germany has been doing well. I am routing for the Italians I am going for Germany on this game It will be interesting to say the least.

There is always a first time.

This game had been extremely tough to watch, we had been fully asleep at the 105th minute here and decided to turn off TV and go to bed. The final score was then announced by loud honking and an italian auto corso.

Italy is one of the opponents that you don't want to face in a tournament. The good news: Italy in 2006 had a much better endurance than it had in 2012. In 2006, the German team was winded and the Italians looked still strong during the overtime, having been able to play with minimal effort for 90 minutes. In 2012, the Italians had already been winded after 90 minutes, and won by England being well, England. Many errors, no tactics that didn't end in "kick and rush" after a few stations, too many high balls.

But the real hero of the match had been Buffon. Italy-Germany will likely be a match of the goal keepers again.

In that topic: Congratulations for finding a goalkeeper in England who can catch a ball. By the look of him... you sure didn't clone Neuer in secrecy?

Even with all this being true I still have faith that the Germans can win it I hate to see them lose they have come so far. Honestly your right though this could very well be a goal keeper match again, but we will definitely see good plays coming from Germany for sure they unlike England know how to play.

Indeed.
Not a checkmate but a resignation.

And now it is Ukrainian Roulette.

And Spain is in the final again, with more luck than capability.
