Its a holiday weekend here, so for a bit of fun!

Which movie has the best opening title sequence?

My favourite:

RE the two above Briliant! and lots of adjectives.

Edit: Perhaps a bit vague, opening title, Music, Graphics, Content.
Still thing Fist Full of ... and The Seven Samuarai.

Up to you Folks

Planetes. Not quite a movie, but hope it still counts.

YouTube - PlanetES Opening Creditless (HD)
It still irks me that they portrayed Mercury II as a Gemini capsule, and there are a few English messups, but it was a nice idea for an intro.

(Too bad Enterprise was such an underwhelming show, after that intro...)

Sorry, no multiple choice,,,how long will that last? :)

And a link would be good.

Edit that was for Zatnikitelman above, oh dear its getting complicated already...

Edit2 Liked the Enterprise titles, prefered the original mix.

Just realised that you get some of the best composers/editors for opening sequences, No wonder they are good. Must have more holidays:

Sorry about that, but its well put together.

By far American Beauty. It hasn't only one of the best opening title sequences, but also one of the most awesome movie music in general...

And of course, whenever Robert Zemeckis fingers are involved...

Not really the opening credits for a movie, but the music theme that introduced the antagonist Santa Maria in the German movie "Der Schuh des Manitu" sure deserves a special mentioning.

Also...don't forget this title theme:

If you can't identify it, you won't get German citizenship ;)

(With Udo Lindenberg at the drums... who can today even slightly imagine that he was also a drummer)

And of course...when we are at German TV.... some classics are just a few clicks away:

Well, if you are going to go into 60's tv themes:

Strange, can't find Alien. Looks like Fox have got that sown up tight.
