For Orbiter 2010, stage- and exhaust-bug fixed. new in version1.3:
-another name bug fixed, there was sometimes problems with CTD after realoding a scenario, it seems that orbiter 2010 doesnt support split names correct

Launch the awesome Perseus deep space ship from KSC!!!
Perseus and the launcher are NON-SciFi vessels, build from current/near technologies. ISS building is in progress since more than 10 years and still not finished. The mutch bigger non-modular Perseus ship to build in space would take 15 years and more with current technics, so the autor of Perseus and me decided to launch the ship complet from earth surface to space with a single launch. Includes:

Properseus Launcher
-beautifully meshes from salvadortega
-650mT to LEO launcher with 4 STS SRBs and a liquid
 hydrogen/LOX stage derived from NASAs Constellation programm
-impressing exhausts
-launch auto pilot with exciting sound from mission control
Perseus MkII
-correct simulation of the propulsion system, both engines are separately available now with own Isp, fuel mass and thrust
-mutch more dV up to 408km/s with ion engine and 17km/s with
nuclear thermal engine (normal Perseus 76km/s in mixed mode)
-own exhausts for every engine and RCS

You need
new Perseus from Salvador with landing gear

Cool, an addon for Perseus! One of my favorite deep-space vessels.

---------- Post added at 03:03 PM ---------- Previous post was at 12:14 PM ----------

The launch and MECO scenarios don't work in 2010 P1 - I have an invisible ship.

The first perseus launcher and perseus MkII-addon came 1 year before.
You need a stage.dll patch for 2010 P1 to avoid invisible stages/meshes.

[ame="http://www.orbithangar.com/searchid.php?ID=4661"]Stage.dll for Orbiter 2010[/ame]

Some older Addons overwrite the stage.dll and other files with one from 2006. Check other/older addons next time before installation on 2010 P1. The 2006er Perseus-Launcher had already a 2006 stage.dll, but i deleted it from the archiv. I could put the newer from 2010 in, but then it could make problems at 2006er-Orbinauts, there are some, so long many addons doesn't work under 2010 P1.

Hi Axel, you could just add two folders to the addon,so you could choose between installing the stage.dll for 2006,or the stage.dll 2010P1.

@ Interceptor
"I could just" is not possible, because im not the developer of any stage.dlls, its a license/copyright problem! I have many other nice own written addons at my harddrive, like HLVs from 45-150 tonnes payload, capsules from ESA started by NASA SRBs and Hoverdrives for vessels which original didnt have own, but i used some parts from other addons too, so i cant release them. I asked the developers of it to release it, but they didnt answer or forbade it. I cant make completly own addons at time, but im well in modification of existing addons, gave many suggestions to addons we all use today and tested it before the official release.
The Perseus-Launcher is a normal multistage2-Vessel, and if other multistage2-addons are running at Orbiter 2010, this will run too. The same for the Orbiter 2006.
On the other side, there were unsupported exhaust-commands in the old addon, so i had first time in orbiter 2010 completly no exhaust/no smoke.
I refonfigured it with some improvement, but i dont know if it works in 2006 again. I have no orbiter 2006 anymore, i use only 2010, sorry.

I had to update it again today, because Orbiter 2010 doesnt seem to support split names correctly, like "Perseus MkII". The first load from the original 2006 scenarios was possible, but after realoding it i got a CTD in 2010. At Orbiter 2006 it works fine alltimes, in 2010 only sometimes, thats crazy and a task for Martin. I had to rename it in all scenarios and configs.

I registered it as i yesterday add a ship on the fly at a running simulaton, i named it "Explorer One". But after reloading of this scenario i got CTD without any bug message!

I get a CTD on startup for anything beyond the MECO scenario included here; upon jettison of the ascent stage, my view gets transported to deep space and there is no visual for the ship. Sounds like the Stage.dll problem as described above but I updated that and the problem persists...

The relevant part of the crash log, I think,

Code:
Finished initialising world
Module spacecraft3.dll ....... [Build ******, API 060425]
**** WARNING: Mesh file name not provided

Also, original Perseus scenarios seem to load fine.

After a bit more investigation, it seems if I remove the references to the Ion Engine from the scenarios, it will at least load without crashing. But, again, the Perseus doesn't really exist in that it has no features of any kind. No orbital data, no mesh, nothing. So the crash is caused, I believe, by the ion engine trying to be docked with "nothing"...but that still leaves the issue of why the Perseus Mk. II is not being read by Orbiter 2010.

@EnDSchultz
Thx for your bug finding! The reason was a second split name of "Perseus MkII" in "Config/spacecraft/"
I corrected it to "Perseus-MkII" too. At my harddrive it was already so, but i forgot it to change in the orbithangar-archive :facepalm:and to test it in a clean install.

The Ion drive works pefect, it was only to light! In 400km altitude is in orbiter 2010 a rest atmosphere, this caused a strange reaction to so light weight vessels, which then go to warp 9 in high rotation in time warp or crash into earth! This is very intresting, Martin did a good job for simulation of atmosphere! In real time you can see how the perigy goes more and more down, but the ion drive thrust was off! That was no problem in orbiter 2006.
I gave him 1 kg mass now, because its mass is part of Perseus-MkII, so normally no extra mass is needed. So it should keep month in LEO.

I tested all in a clean install, and all works pefect now! Thank you very mutch, i dont understand why not more orbinauts give bug reports, i guess they think its only a problem at own orbiter installation.

Nice original ship with a taste for realism, thanks. :thumbup:

Realistically, how many orbits would it take to fully refuel the Perseus fuel tanks?

Given the propellant expended, due to aerodynamic drag in the upper atmosphere with a efficiency = 10% and magnetic absorption diameter of 20 meters, on Earth orbit at an altitude of 80 km
The calculated result is: 48 orbits; 2.9 days
(for Vagaworld is : 13.15 orbits; 0.77 days)

ACUMULATION PROPPELLANT FOR PERSEUS
Efficiency=10%
PM (molecular weight)=30 u.m.a.
Magnetic diameter= 20 m
Height =80 Km
days of full = 2,87 days
Speed Vc= 7860 m/s
Atmosphere density (80 Km) =1,58E-005Kg/ m3
