I thought I start a thread on this as I hope to find some more hidden gems. What old games are you still playing and enjoying?

- Nethack (Freeware, Dungeon/ASCII adventure)
- UFO: Enemy Unknown (TBS)
- Jagged Alliance 2 (TBS)
- Empire Deluxe (TBS)
- Dwarf Fortress (Freeware, RTS)
- Enemy Territory (Freeware, FPS (q3 engine))
- Armagetron (Freeware, MP Racing/Action)
- atcsim (ATC Simulation with Speech Recognition)
- Silent Hunter III (Sub Simulation)

Probably some more I forgot. Did not mention any Madden/NBA sports games, etc as they are renewed every year anyway.

Does Empire Earth count as an old game now?

Also I still have Descent on my computer.

Lessee:

Half-life
Half life 2
IL2
Janes F-16

I've been dying to get hold of a copy of homeworld. Never played it but what i've seen, I've loved.

Half Life 2 is hardly an "old" game. I'll just about concede that Half Life qualifies.

The original one, sure... though there were a good thousand clones at least, some quite recent >.>

No, I have a version of frogger that's about 20 years old. Came on what was already an old laptop when the laptop was given to me about 12 years ago. My oldest has that laptop now and she loves to challenge me on frogger.

If you still play Frogger frequently, that counts! Had to imagine, though...

Bloodworth already stated it, but I'd definitely recommend Homeworld. I've never seen anything quite like it, before or since.

I have a copy of Homeworld2, but I've been scouting to no avail for a copy of the first one. It would be awesome if Relic or whoever owns it now released the source code.

Or just re-released it, slightly updated so it would run on newer machines.

Majesty
KOTOR
Silent Hunter 3
YS Flight
Starfox(SNES)
Starfox 64
Starfox Adentures
True Crimes
Grand Theft Auto 3
Halo
Halo 2
Goldeneye 007(N64)
Perfect Dark(N64)
Steel Battalion(+5 points in life to anyone whom knows that that is XD)
Silent Hunter IV(And I do have all 5 games. Six if you include the expansion for SHIV)

NetHack
XCOM- any of the first two titles.
Starflight or Starflight II

And I agree that Dwarf Fortress doesn't count as an old game. Sure, it looks the same as NetHack, but let's face it: Any pre-pentium 3 (ore maybe even 4!) processor would be hoplessly underpowered to run the game, with everything that's going on in it.
