Anti-Hacker Program

It's useless to ban the IP range, since the IP can be spoofed by using either proxy servers or onion routers. I could use a proxy to troll the forum, the IP address would be banned and I would be here to wreak havoc again in less than a minute using another IP from halfway the world away. Crackers who aren't complete lamers know this, and some use botnets made up of hundreds (if not thousands) of zombie PCs to carry off the attack.

Curse you Orbiter! Anyway, ar81 are you sure the code will work. If it does, it will be the center of the program. This program will basically block any IP address that hacks. So it will protect any server I believe.

i have a better, and more secure solution. In Pseudocode:

Code:
on connect
  {close socket};
end;

this comment places you programming knowledge somewhere between that of a brick and an over boiled cabbage.

please, go learn what you are talking about.

Once a hacker enters a server and tries to hack the IP address is scanned, and immediately his IP address is blocked, and deadly viruses attack his computer and destroy the start up procedure ruining his hacking software.

And let me guess, you detect the hacker because he uses the command "HACK" on the server, right?

Indeed!! You discovered the secret: Brick Oriented Programming (BOP). Hackers have so much complexity in their minds that such a "brick simplicity" in the code would confuse them for years. :lol::rofl:

And let me guess, you detect the hacker because he uses the command "HACK" on the server, right?

Shhhh, we do not want hackers to know that we know that they use such command.:lol::rofl::cheers:

Erm.... Where do I start? Aside from the obligitary facepalm? If preventing hacking was that simple the security sector wouldn't be making the millions that they do....

Wow. Just wow....

how would your program stop a DoS?

No. I am just kidding.

I might advise you not to try to face hackers with your current level of knowledge. You might get into legal trouble with your ideas.

Here at the Orbiter community you have people with enough knowledge on computer security to take care of Orbiter community.

As for AVSIM, they might need to learn a few things about computer security, like the importance of an external backup, and you can't do anything about it. It is up to them.

It is just one line of code:

Code:
If vbSpam then vbIgnore

:lol::rofl::P

External backups has nothing to with security. Hopefully it's just understood as a Really Sensible Thing to Do! :P

I already posted a reply for 'Liberator' in the AVSIM Hacked thread regarding his idea, but I will post it here as well...

For one thing, the server we're on is run by Vash who knows his stuff when it comes to security. On top of that the forum software we use is the most secure bulletin board software available with updates and security patches released as soon as any vulnribility is found. That's not to say it's impossible to hack as anything can be hacked. But I can assure you we've already taken all the appropriate security measures to ensure the community is safe including daily, off site backups which ensures we can restore the site should it ever be effected by a hacking attempt.

I can't speak for AVSIM, but I'm quite sure their position would be the same as mine when it comes to your idea of sending viruses to hackers. This is illegal first and foremost, regardless of the fact you may be sending it to someone attempting to hack the site. As such we certainly can not support any action like that. I have to ask that we do not discuss the idea of sending anyone a virus. This site can not be used in any unlawful way. Please see our TOS Policy for more information.

Liberator, I must agree with Tex. If a hacker gains control of someone else's computer, if you strike back, you would be hurting the owner of such computer, instead of attacking the hacker. That means that the owner of that computer might sue you. You lose, hacker wins twice, for hackers use to cover their steps.

Computing is not street fighting. In war games everything is solved with a gun, you shoot back if fired upon. In the real world, things are more complicated than that.

Hacking and defacing a website usually is not the work of a skilled hacker. It is usually the work of a hacker unskilled minion, which are called "lamers" by computer experts.

Destroying is not as challenging as creating. If you create addons, instead of thinking about destruction, you are likely to become a better expert and you save yourself from trouble. I might want to encourage you to create.

Hackers may deface and destroy a host, but the talent of people to create cannot be defaced.

That is untrue, my friend. In case a hacker sends a hurricane against the server, a good backup gives the security of having the site elsewhere. :lol:

EDIT:

TO: Liberator

I forgot to add... You do not need to try to act yourself against those lamers.
There are people with enough expertise here to handle the situation.
Let experts to take care of the matter.
That way you sit and rest asured that behind scenes, lamers will be having a very bad time.

Orbiter community had waves of attacks in the past, attempts to deface forums and hosting, and we are here.

We have seen from the most childish types of attacks to other more advanced types of attacks. We are still here.

So, you wanna outsmart these people at their own game?
