too slow school-computers...![]()
Actually they are faster than my computer that has a 1 gig memory and the schools has 756 mb. :compbash2:
When a friend throws a ball and remarks on it's parabolic trajectory, you feel the need to correct them, saying that it's actually a highly eccentric elliptical trajectory.
If you slow down to catch up with the school bus (orbital mechanics) (not guilty, I turn from synchronisation- to docking-mode at the right moment...)
if you play orbiter at school instead of doing mindstorms robotics(guilty)
When you build the Delta Glider Paper Model from OrbitHangar, and it becomes your proudest possesion.

Guilty
Cheers

When you switch into a special film editing class so you can use their computer to play Orbiter. (It has two monitors, lots of ram, and two GPUs!)
Disclaimer: Okay so this isn't actually the reason I'm taking the class but it sure is a nice added bonus!
I think what he means is a sub-orbital projectile (eg, the proverbial cannon ball) is not on a parabolic trajectory. It is on an elliptical trajectory that is approximately like a parabolic trajectory when the apoapsis and range are low enough. If you push the cannon ball fast enough its trajectory will actually become a parabola, as it reaches escape velocity. How can a trajectory not start out as a parabola?
