Science What will computers be like?

I regularly use:

PhotoShop CS2
PaintShop Pro 3.12
MS Office 2003
Visual Studio 2010

These are all not the latest and greatest, but I can blast through just about anything with these. I like the snappy response you can only get from older applications on newer hardware.

Every two months maintenance includes a blast with CCleaner + custom config file, perhaps a registry check, A fast defrag and tidy-up with Ultimate Defrag. And then an image backup.

I do daily file-syncs that take just a few moments.

larger hard drive

Agreed. When I got this computer (around 5 years ago... yea, it's really old) it had 80 GB. I never thought I could fill it up. Now it's got 250 GB and I still consider it really small. In 10 year's time I think petabyte hard disks will be as common as terabyte ones now.

Except for this, I can't predict how computers will be. Who would have thought of the internet before it actually appeared? I can say that they will be *much* more powerful than ours, but besides that, not too much.

larger hard drive even though i think 1 terabyte is WAYYYYYYYYYYY more than what anyone would need

possibly an Exabyte of space depending on how much further you go into the future

I used to think that with my 10MB Sider Drive for my ol'Apple II system. 10MB was big, and brawny and ready for anything.

Today, 2TB is the norm for external drives. And in 10 years, 2TB will be unusably small. You will find these drives in the dollar store.
