The regulars of Orbiter Multiplayer might post around in the forums talking like Red Barons. However we are not murderous aces flying scarlet painted XR2s.

Most of the time online, we're either involved with team-building exercises (what else do you call capital ship ops with fighter escort?) or extending a helping hand to those who need them.

With that experience in mind I think it's high time a VSA was started that catered to the needs of those Orbinauts new to the community and wish to learn about the tips and tricks of exo-atmospheric flight.

Using Orbiter Multiplayer as a virtual reality training tool, you'll learn in less than an hour:

- Basic Flight
- Atmospheric command and control (teamwork)
- Dealing with Inflight Emergencies
- Hypersonic & supermaneuverability skills
- Orbital launch & interception
- Conventional re-entry
- Powered re-entry

And lastly
- Capital ship operations

If you are interested to contribute to the Orbiter community as an addon dev, the following tutorials may be provided:

- Addon management
- Texturing / reskinning ships
- Satellite terrain generation
- Scenario design & UCGO programming

In short, anything you need to know about getting yourself into the air, into space, and staying alive :3

VSA website

The 149th Strategic Fighter Wing is of course based on the real Texas Air National Guard of today; they too are involved with flight training.

And as far as our virtual flying goes, you can be assured that it is like no other.

Looks like fun! I wouldn't mind flying with you guys, but whenever I log on I'm all alone

I was also never one for heavy sci-fi flights, but I can see the necessity due to lack of time acceleration. Maybe I'll get around to flying with you all one of these times!

Thanks for your interest fireballs :3

Do note that while OMP will continue to be around the regulars have expressed no interest in advancing to the level of VSA or virtual squadron ops.

Therefore I shall progress to the next stage of joining VSAs and progressing beyind Earth orbit :)

Update on the above - I did some homework.

We -CAN- have cooperative flight training in OMP without getting into anyone's way. All it takes is some good organisation and updating people on what we need in advance. Hope to see you in the skies one day!

i also wouldnt mind this, except for 1 problem, dubai(where i live) is at GMT +4:30.
that would mean that im almost 12 ahead of the west coast of america, thats a problem for whe will we do this. But apart from that it seems like a nice idea

Don't worry about the timezone Nazban, I'm in GMT 8, there are players in Europe (GMT 0-2) and also the US. Thought to see if anyone is interested to coordinate timings so I can offer up planning for cooperative missions :3
