Updates this week are few, but still progress.

First and foremost, I finished the forums on the site. They are looking good (in my opinion), and it was good to get them out of the way. I realized I messed up while making the authenticated home page, so I will have to reconfigure that, but its not a huge deal. Still to-do is the mission sign-up page (which is the last huge thing), and adjusting settings so it all works out. Does anyone have suggestions on other pages I can include?

On another note, I was thinking about operations lately, and came to the subject of including MSFS into VASO, similar to what simNASA did. This would add a whole new set of missions, a new class (presumably called 'cargo'), and new procedures. The purpose of this class would be to use MSFS to ship cargo, be it the space shuttle from KEDW to KSC, or any other thing that may be needed. The credits for these missions would have to be lower than ones that can be done in Orbiter, to make up for the fact that not everyone has MSFS or a computer that can run it.

I am seriously considering incorporating that, but would like your guys input. As usual, I am still looking for banner pictures and people who can write scenarios. If you think you can help, comment here or PM me!

EDIT: Whoops! I forgot to include a picture of the forums :P. Here they are:

EDIT 2: After some thinking and advice from others, I decided that I was probably getting ahead of myself with thinking of incorporating VA procedures into VASO at this point. Maybe in time we could incorporate it, but not now. For now, I have to worry about getting everything cemented, and actually getting members.

I have fsx fs9 and xplane so i can run it fine i am in favor of having that idea i know there is an addon with the space shuttle on a 747 or an a225
an idea we could get our training class involved with fs if a person has it so we could fly with them in the training aircraft to make things a hell of alot easier we could connect via gamespy (fsxtofsx) or vatsim we would have to fly in class f airspace ( around edwards or somthing it connects everything together xplane,fsx,fs9 )

and your doing a great job

Many of the highly customized aircraft that NASA or other space agencies use are not modeled very well in flight sim, and, if they are, their systems modeling is horrid. We play Orbiter; therefore, I expect and enjoy operating the systems and controls of an aircraft. The 'good' aircraft, so to speak, are ones such as the PMDG 747, CS 767/757, C130, etc. The default models don't do justice to aviation.

Now a few mission ideas to consider -
the Shuttle transport from landing site-KSC - utilizing the PMDG 747 or the lame-o default 744
Flights bringing 'heads of governement' to view launches/landings - utilizing the PMDG 747, CS/QW 767/757, or other aircraft
Transport/Cargo - CS C-130, PMDG 747
Astronaut Training - Aerosoft F-16, Accel./VRS FA-18
Aerial Refueling - CS 767
Launch Security - Accel FA-18/ Aerosoft F-16
Vomit Comet - PMDG 737 or default 737

I can think of more ideas for later publishing. As always, default aircraft can be used, but it detracts from the experience and realism heavily.

I volunteer to lead this tier of the VSA

Two thoughts on this:

1. Wouldn't it be better to get the VSA side of things operational and stable before branching out into VA activities?

2. Why can't you use orbiter for aircraft flights? For example, a DG ferry flight from Easter Island to Ascension Island makes more sense if it's flown in Orbiter than in MSFS. It keeps the scenario current and that scenario can be passed on to the next person to fly.

I agree with FSX the defult aircraft suck but the F18 in the acell pack is very nice i find i have all the PMDG stuff for fsx and as far as i have heard aerosoft stuff is very nice i think our pilots must have the option if a ferry flight is needed they can fly it in fsx if they want

I want to point out the second edit I made. I have decided not to incorporate MSFS into VASO as of now.

It's music to ears (or maybe a mirage to my eyes since I'm reading) about VA integration and since I have much experience flying online and with many different aircraft on MSFS (and a bit X-Plane) when time comes I will gladly assist in whatever I can to make this happen :)
However, I totally agree that the top priority now should be to finish what is already started.
