Request Tutorial on how to use LaunchMFD with DGIV or XR1-5

Hi I am wondering if someone could do a tutorial for launch MFD with the DGIV or simlar ships such as XR1-5. I am confused on how to use it correctly.I can't get the launch window to appear. thanks.
