Is anyone working on expanding Orbiter so that you dont have to use Msss or load other systems? I mean Ive never reached the end of the "Map" on Orbiter has anyone? If anyone is working on adding actual star systems that I can use Galactica or one of the other dozens of interstellar vessels I have to actually go somewhere? Maybe the 12 Colonies is a Good place to start lolz. I can make a Flotilla and try to find earth.....

Orbiter is endless but eventually the processes for determining the ships location starts to almost think the ship is in many places at once the farther away from the sun you are making "true" interstellar travel in orbiter impossible without martin putting it into the core.

Orbiter has no practical distance limit, but the accuracy of the engine decreases the farther you go (I believe it's a significant figure thing; 1.00001 is far more accurate than 10 000.1)
I've had problems ~800-1000AU from the centre of Orbiter's universe, but I haven't tested it thoroughly so I don't know exactly where things start to get weird.

Well, he has an account on this forum, but pestering him (or anyone) isn't going to get you anywhere but on a bunch of Ignored lists. I heard he said something about looking into such travel in future releases, so just be patient. ;)

In the meantime, Orbiter Galaxy sounds like it's nearly ready for a beta/alpha release, so count on that. Jedidia's working his butt off for it. :tiphat:

Bugging anybody like that will make you very unpopular, very quickly, in most places both on the internet and offline in the Real World™.

I fail to see why Martin would be any different. ;)

you shouldn't have any problems unless you try to dock at that distance... or re-initialise your HUD. That doesn't like too big distances either, I'm afraid.

Orbiter per se is working stable at any distance I tried so far (farthest has been something like 10 lightyears, if I remember correctly), but precise maneuvers or the mentioned hud initialisation are not possible.
