Hello Orbinauts,

I believe that many of you would like to see a real space launch. Perhaps, you have already seen one, especially if you have been to the KSC, but isn't it great to get different tastes of such an experience?

A small Russian based firm now offers tours to Baikonur to watch real space launches. In my impression they are best described as a venture company. Despite of that, they've already gained some experience over the last year and people who traveled their tours seem to be happy.

The website is: http://www.bestrussiantour.com/space/tour_baikonur (German and Spanish languages are also supported). The cost of manned space launch tour is €2800, for an unmanned launch €2500, not including Russian visa and round trip tickets to Moscow from your location.

They offer a 3* accomodation and lot of activities in place (read the full list at http://www.bestrussiantour.com/space/tour_baikonur/price ). Note that 50 days ahead of the visiting date is the deadline of the necessary official arrangements, so it's best to start negotiating now if you want to attend Soyuz TMA-18 launch on April 2, 2010.

They also offer many other kinds of tourist activities related to space, please look them up on their website.

To explain myself, the firm Country of Tourism, ltd. doesn't pay me a cent. I'm posting this just to inform you of the possibility. I can't guarantee safety and quality of their services. This posting is made with Tex's consent.

I will have to put this on my To-Do list when I decide to tour the world

That would be interesting to see.

I'm going to KSC this spring, but I would like to see Baikonur at some point.

Too bad I don't have the money.

Sounds fascinating ST, something I would love to do. Got all year to save up...

Seems like Winter Baikonour has come to the UK.

Wow. That would be very interresting.

It costs a lot of money though. This and this would be interesting too.
